The guy on the espn said mac would have a hard time saying who was the best QB he has coached. I think to me it has to be VY. That rose bowl was supposedly against the greatest team in the history of CFB.
I love McCoy but right now Vince Young. If McCoy carries Texas through the BCS title game, then McCoy. I respect McCoy for finishing what he started not to mention he was a better passer than Vince.
Right now... Vince.. I mean Vince is playing on a bigger stage now... he's been a winner on a bigger stage.. McCoy is a legendary CFB player though.
I say with two more good games and a BCS championship McCoy would be the better QB HOWEVER I think VY will and is the better football PLAYER overall. VY was so darn explosive with his legs that it made him dangerous and his illusivness created so many problems while Colt's scrambling ability is nice but isn't feared. Colt's arm is feared much more the VY's and like I said with a few more great games I'd say he would be a better QB but not overall player.
Why the hell would Mack say on National TV that the QB he has now is not as good as the one he had before? WHY? 1 game away from a championship game. Just finished a really close one with that guy leading the way for the win. Not a good justification for ANOTHER vy thread at all. Vince scored at will against all teams. He was the best college football player of all time.
as much as I hate him, it has to be Vince Young. This guy made me, an aggie, subconsciously cheer for Texas in that Rose Bowl where he pretty much just pulled plays out of his a$$ and scored time and time again. Easily the best college football game I've ever seen. VY is probably one of the greatest college football players of all time. In the pro level, however, he can't hold Mario Williams' jock
polls like this make me think people forget just how dominant VY was. the only thing colt has on vince is that he played 4 years instead of 3. vince's junior year was like watching albert pujols play in the minors (well, like watching pujols play in the majors also). i would've liked another title, but honestly it would have almost been ridiculous to keep him he was so good compared to college players. plus, we'd have been protecting him so much he wouldn't have been able to run a lot, just like his junior year, so the most exciting part of watching him would have only been on display 3 or 4 more times. he was just a force of nature and our 2005 offense was just a freakin' machine. sure we had a lot of physical talent, but almost all of the skill guys except david thomas were freshman and sophomores and still nobody could stop us. and that wasn't against the hurry-up, no defense big 12 from 2008. vince as a senior would have been even more dominant. colt has been as incredible as you could hope for your qb to be, and to do it directly following VY has made it even more amazing. he makes plays with his arm and his feet, leads game-winning drives, and puts W's on the board like nobody's business, but VY is in select company in all of college football history. they had that one poll that voted him #10 all time in cfb history, and that probably underrated him. colt is awesome, but he's not top 10 all time. even if he wins the championship, he won't be in VY's class, but whichever one he's in, it won't take long to call roll.
VY lead Texas to the National Championship in perhaps the best college game ever played...er, uh, I guess I will vote for him.
You have to wait till after the championship. Even if we win, have to go with VY. Colt may be the better quarterback technically, but VY is just in a league of his own. He was the Longhorns. The games he won were just amazing. McCoy can never define the team the way Young did. The guy just had some sort of aura about him.
