Looks like the only reason for me to listen to 610 now is Texans and Longhorn football/basketball games. Hope they can transfer to 790 as well.
Are you serious? Dan Patrick is an awesome talk show host. Especially when it comes to interviews and guests. I don't think there's anybody else close. I'll agree he does go offtopic a little much though, but he's easily 10x better than anything 610 has left to offer. And Patrick isn't local, his show is nationally syndicated and competes nationally with shows like the Herd.
Guess I'll throw my 2 cents in, too: Absolutely FANTASTIC that MJ and Wex are back together. Makes me want to get back in the game and do a show @ 790...seriously. Those two were just starting out on The Night Shift when I was coming up the first time around @ 610, doing sports flashes on their show. They WILL make a dent in the ratings, mark my words. Extremely happy for two very good friends of mine, and I wish them the best of luck. And yes, I'm still at Channel 2...I'll be anchoring sports again this coming Saturday (11/28) at 6 & 10p. (Here's an interesting tidbit: When I was first breaking in as an intern @ Channel 2, none other than Adam Wexler was the sports producer who taught me a TON about how to stack a show, namely Sports Sunday. During my internship he left for 610, where I was already also working at the time...so I'm a huge fan of Wex's, and he was/still is very good to me and supportive of my broadcasting career. Can't wait to book the new morning show tandem from 790 on Sports Sunday...) Oh, and I appreciate the kind words, wreck
Heard this morning that John Lopez, Brad Davies and I think I heard them say Rich Lord are going to be doing Countdown to kickoff on 610...my ears began to bleed when I heard this... Side note...its funny how its overwhelmingly pro MattJ and Wex here on clutchfans but if you look at the comments, as of last night, on Chron it is 60/40 negative on Matt/Wex.
As I pointed out earlier ratings went up when Jlopez went on the air which is unfathomable. I think the avg ports fans likes dumbed down radio.

That settles it. The under 40 demographic must lean MattJ/Wexy. The over 40 demographic must lean FatTubsOfSh!t.
I don't get the fascination with MattJ at all. It must be the age thing because although he's certainly more knowledeable than Rich Lord, and who isn't really, he's always sounds like he's playing some degenerate gambler, embodiment of every stupid stereotyped, "keeping it real" 20 something year old character on the radio. I think Henslee and Lord will be just fine. Barry Warner and John Lopez do suck majorly. Crazy enough, ND Kalu and Eric Winston are probably the best talents on the station.
This is a great point. Winston is a really bright guy, and Kalu, at the very least, seems to have an interesting viewpoint on everything being an ex-player who doesn't have to bite his tongue now that the league or team management isn't hanging over his head.
Your right my bad. I really liked your solo show from I believe 1-3 but it doesn't come one anymore because of the Tim Brando Show. It seems Brando talks about college football 24/7. What is he going talk about after the season ends?
They let go of sexxy Wexxy? What the hell is wrong with them? He was the best! And I really liked matt jackson and the big guy, i thought they made a really good team.
