I'm convinced. Rockets need to go all out for Brook Lopez. Even then the Nets would laugh at the rockets best package and say no. It's worth trying. 0-15 and counting. We really need Morey to work his magic here. When Les isn't looking try a few animal sacrifices behind the TC late at night... McGrady + Brooks + Landry + rights to Eliyahu for Lopez + Alston + Simmons + Hassell A thousand cries on Clutchfans on the Brooks and 0-fer swap but it's a necessary evil that needs to be done if it helps to snare Lopez. Harris is back but on the bench. He's still bothered by a groin strain. Groin injuries pull up unexpectedly. It's going to be a long seson for Harris especially if they try to manage it. Brooks, Harris Lee, Dooling, CDR McGrady, T.Williams, Hayes Landry, Najera, S.Wiliams Yi, Boone, Battie Lowry, 0-fer Ariza, Budinger, Taylor Battier, Simmons, Hassell Scola, Hayes, Cook, Dorsey Lopez, Andersen, Yao
Any thoughts on obtaining D. Harris from the Nets? Don't really care about who would be given up in return. But I would like to see him run with Ariza, Lowry, Scola and Landry.
I agree that he'd be a great pick-up, but getting him is extremely unlikely. He's their franchise player, and they already gave up Carter. I doubt they'll give up their other star.
Actually, McGrady is better for them because of the salary cap savings. Toronto doesn't make either trade though because they are building and looking for talent/draft picks, etc. to complete their team and compete. Expiring contracts doesn't help them compete right now.
If we trade a PF, I suspect it will be Landry. He has another year left on his contract before he gets paid and he has been more efficient than Scola, not to mention he's several years younger. Scola is a FA after this season and will have to be paid, while Carl will be earning a pittance of $3 mill for 2010. Landry has way more trade value.
If Bosh wants out of Toronto and everyone knows it, then Toronto will not get fair value for him. As such, they wouldn't be competing this season anyway. And in terms of salary cap implications, have you even looked at the Knicks payroll this year?
I disagree. Lee and Harrington for bosh sounds better than whatever the rox can offer. Lee is a young double-double that would fit nicely next to Bargiani and harrington is a versitile combo forward. Both are healthy and expiring. If toronto took deal, they could still move harringtons contract for another player +/- 2.5m of 10m. I'm a rockets fan and I know this is a fan site, but that doesn't mean I have to be blind to think the rox have good trade packages.
When u really think and digest, the mavs can offer howard and a partially guaranteed dampier. Factor in he's from dallas, dirk is still a great playrt and they have a lot of talent, dallas is a better option.
David Lee is a nice player, agreed. But there is no way Toronto prefers him and his expiring contract over Carl Landry who has another year left at $3 million. Lee does not help Toronto with their lack of post up offense if Bosh is traded. Lee will wind up, just like Scola, getting paid $6-$10 mill per season. Carl Landry's trade value is spiking very high right now.
Yes, legit offer. And makes sense since Bosh is from Dallas. But if you were Toronto, would you rather have Howard (flaky), and Dampier (expiring, inconsistent) or would you rather have your choice of Okafor/Kaman, and Landry, or Battier/Landry/Cook/Lowry? I am confident we can trump Dallas unless Dallas offers up Dirk.
First off, lee and harrignton trumps landry, battier and lowry. Why? Look at the age and upside of lee and the expiring of harrington not to mention lee can play center and would be content running the court, rebounding, and being a garbage man. On the open market, le is worth more than scola and landry while battier isn't even in the discussion. Could other teams like the clipps offer a better package? Maybe, maybe not. Kaman is a good player and I like him but he can't stay on the court and has a few more yrs on his contract as do okefor. Toronto has shown they will spend money and free agents have shown they will go there. Their not one of these penny pinching frnachises that are scared to spend as evident by hedo going there. Of the list of teams that can get bosh, the rockets are too far down with their package they can offer.
do this trade asap!!! Rockets would get CP3 enough said. NOLA would do it because of $$$$$ reasons. this would also work if instead of wright they would give us Armstrong but i dont see that happening because Armstrong comes off the books at the end of the year, while Wright has another year. Look at all the NOLA players that would be off the books: H.Armstrong, B.Brown, D.Brown, I.Diogu, S.Marks, T.McGrady, and B.Cook. Rockets: CP3/Lowry Ariza/CBud Battier/Peja Scola/Landry Hayes/Andersen Hornets: Brooks/Collison McGrady/Brown Peterson/Posey West/Songalia Okafor/Armstrong
