Every one of those players out there need to play second fiddle. They are not accustomed to being the first option. Battier does well when he gets open threes in the quarter because there is less focus on him. Ariza does better when he gets open threes or easy cuts to the basket because there is less focus on him. Brooks also does well when he gets less focus on him.

None of these players can really create for themselves consistently on every given night.

This is where Tracy McGrady comes in. Regardless of his health, he's the only one who can create his own shot, even with his injured knee. This is why we did well with Yao only in the line-up, and Tracy only a couple of seasons back.

This is also why we were so damned erratic in the playoffs when Yao was injured. Win big, lose big, win big, lose big.

So far in the season, this team has played erratic. Win, loss, win, loss, win, loss, win, loss...

    Thus proves my point.

    WE NEED TRACY MCGRADY

    Who?

    Brooks, Ariza, Battier.

Have you noticed none of them are at the least bit consistent?
Brooks one night scores 30. Next night gets shut down.
Ariza score 20 one night. Next night, he can't seem to get the ball in the basket.

    Etc. etc.

Yeah, who's that? Is he a 7 foot plus player who can provide a presence in the paint, rebound, and block shots? Cause we could sure use one of those.

Reason why, is no true shotblocker ie.(Rim protector) and the loss of a 7"6 center and 7"2 shotblocking and rebounding backup center.

You know the biggest differences between last year and this year?

    1. Rebounding
    2. Defense

    T-Mac provides neither these days.

He's not guaranteed to come back until next year. Why the hell would I talk about him this season?

This season, even in the best of circumstances, Yao is not going to play.

Our problems is defense, not offense. Does McGrady provide interior defense and size? At this point, Dikembe Mutombo would be far more useful to us than McGrady.

More or less. Someone (I think verse?) made a thread at the beginning of the season observing that our defense would get a lot worse without a 7'6'' smart guy who can alter tons of shots and grab rebounds. Putting in McGrady won't change anything about it. Our problem isn't scoring 100, but making sure the other team doesn't, and McGrady if anything would make that worse.

What we need are mods to start banning people that start unecessary threads about Voldemort.

Yeah, sure bud. Let's all rely on Chase Budinger, let's see how far that takes us. Now, I'm no fan of Tracy and his r****ded diva antics... but the truth is there on paper. We are lacking a closer, regardless of his health, he is still a closer.

I never specified Yao. I know he's not coming back, and its a tough pill to swallow, but we're all going to deal with it.

I asked for a seven footer who could defend and block shots. Sure, McGrady may be able to help our offense. But our offense doesn't need as much work as our defense, which gave up 130 last night.

No he isn't, he has no explosiveness, and doesn't play defense.

Voldermort is NOT a closer, if he were a CLOSER, maybe he would have gotten out of the first round.

Look I get that some fans want him back, fine.

But be honest, he had microfracture surgery, and is not ready, until he can beat out the guys on the floor that are playing now.....and by beat out I mean go full out and bust their butts in practice.....he will sit.

The organization is doing the right thing for itself and ironically for Voldermort.

Amare came back early and it cost him another season......

The worst one in all of this is Voldermort himself, he thinks he is ready but reports say he is still favoring the knee, lacks explosion and is not ready.

I believe if he was ready, he would have found the floor, no matter what I think of him.....

Let the team handle it.....Voldermort would not have made a hill of beans difference last night, Dallas was hot.......and Voldermort is not known for his defense or being a leader.....

So, let the man heal, and then prove it in practice if he does that....Rick will have no choice but to play the guy.

This what Deke said yesterday, "It's not easy for a team when they lose their center and their backup center". No mention of McGrady.

That is simply because he thinks Tmac will play soon.

We need a healthy Tracy McGrady, and I don't think he is there yet.

Why we need tmac, many of the Rockets fans at this website are saying tmac is well talented, and the team now playing are poorly talented, that doesnt matter, didnt you see we are playing by every effort, thats enough, what's our aim this season, just as Luis Scola said, if we can win all the teams who are probably miss the playoffs, we can surely make up the playoffs, can tmac back bringing anything good? This's doubtable, even I dont think he can make our offence much smooth, tmac need to dribble alot, in his eyes there is no share of the ball, in addition, if tmac backs, who will sit the bench? Dont be dreaming, we can lose this game, but we will never lose our courage and team insistence, thats the most important..

I don't think Tracy would make our defense any worse, in fact he gives Adelman the option in scoring in half court sets, which would slow the game down for the other team ie.(less points). Tracy is the best player on the team, why would you think he would make the rockets worse. The only way this current team can win games right now is to compete at playoff intensity every regular season game, it makes you wonder how much their going to have left in the tank if they do make the playoffs. They need a defensive presence in the middle more than anything else and as the season goes on oppossing teams are going to exploit that weakness more and more. It tells you alot that Morey made Gortat the rockets first free agent target in the offseason.
