Moiso doesn't have a good offensive game!!! It's very similar to Cato's and Carlos Rogers!! So, why would the Rockets draft Moiso? For Defense I'd rather the Rockets draft Etan Thomas who is an above than average defender and a excellent shot blocker!!! Moiso is not the star I'd like to get. ------------------
Vince, C-Rod has a good O' game just did not get dat much ptime with injuries. Cato for sure sucks at O. I would not be bad to have another person who plays D. ------------------ Roxs team of the furture. IM bACK!!!!
Uh, right. Moiso, the 6'10'' SF/PF/C is in the Garnett mold. (Poor man's Garnett). Moiso can rebound. Moiso has a jump shot. Moiso has post moves. Trust me, Moiso is a lot closer to Garnett skill wise, than he is to Cato. (note: Rogers is an in debt man's Garnett) ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
Rogers as I've heard has come upon bitter terms with the Rockets coaching staff. As I've been told, there was some bickering between Rudy and Rogers. As my source told me, look for Rogers to be dealt. Which really would be a shame considering he reminds me so much of Marcus Camby. Rogers plays center, power forward, and Small forward on occasions. He definatley has some defense and some good offensive moves. Rogers over Cato any day of the Week!!!! Etan Thomas is an awsome defender. He is a below average offensive player. Also this past year Thomas began developing some good offensive moves. If he succeeds he will be an all-star! Moiso, Like I said is another Cato. Sure there is potential with Moiso, he is an athletic freek, but that won't win you games. Before drafting Moiso, I say just take a little bit extra time to work with Cato. Cato has at least the same potential Moiso has. And Moiso has been a less than a huge disappointment. He was supposed to become the best player in no time. The way it looks, the longer he stays in school, the more his stock drops. Had he entered the draft right out of High School he would have been a sure top 5 pick!!!! That's why I just don't like High Schoolers!!! O. Harrington going into college was the top player in the country (and the Rockets got him at the 1st selection of the 2nd round). ------------------
Moiso coming out of college was barely on the radar screen. He would have been the top 5 pick in the CBA draft. If Al Harrington, the number 1 player coming out of high school in the 98 class is drafted 17th and also, Rashard Lewis, the number 2 or 3 player coming out of that class lasting until the 2nd round, why the hell would you presume Moiso who was maybe a top 50 talent, would be in the top 5. ------------------
No not Al Harrington. That's why he went were he went. Othella Harrington was one of the top players when he went to college. I've read that he was considered as the best player coming out of High School when he came out. Just because players were among tops in high school doesn't mean they will be star in the NBA. And moiso was considered a number one pick in an NBA draft when he entered college. The potential for Moiso was considered near star power. ------------------
Carlos Rogers = great D? You sure about that? Carlos Rogers might be similar to Camby physique wise and ability to run the floor, but Rogers is not a shotblocker (Camby's best attribute) at all and brings down like 3/4 the rebounds Camby does. Really, I don't know if Carlos would get substantial PT on too many above .500 teams. When I consider his age, frailty, and trouble with Rudy (the main thing I liked about him was that I thought he was a good locker room presence), I wouldn't be too upset to see him traded. ------------------
I've got to admit, I've never seen Moiso play, but this doesn't sound like another Cato: "Moiso has long, rangy body with a good outside touch, if open. Moiso is more effective facing the basket than with his back to it and needs to get stronger. He is a good rebounder and is effective around the offensive glass. He is a good leaper, but should be a better shotblocker than he is. Moiso needs to improve his passing skills. He must also become more aggressive in terms of getting good offensive position. Moiso looked like a future All-Star at times, but needs to be more consistent and not disappear for stretches of games. Moiso is compared to Marcus Camby and Kevin Garnett, due to his frame." (Monter's Mock Draft). There are some parts that sound like Cato (i.e., disappears for stretches of games). I wouldn't mind having Moiso from what I've read. ------------------
"He can leap with the best of them and has a better-than-average touch from 15-20 feet. His offensive skills are well-developed for someone of his age..." - clutchcity draft profiles. That lil piece up there is about Jerome Moiso. Moiso and Cato are NOT similar. Moiso is younger with a GOOD offensive game for someone his age. Now that doesnt mean that he has a great offensive game right now, but it will certainly develop. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
Jerome Moiso would be a very good fit with the Rockets team, and I hope they select him at 9th overall. Moiso is listed at 6-10; I have read he is even closer to 6-11, he has long arms, runs the floor like a gazelle, has excellent hops, finishes well in transition, can play both inside and outside. I would have no problem with the Rockets taking him then bringing him along slowly while he gets stronger and refines his back to the basket game which is decent already but could get better. His face up game is already very good which is very impressive. PFs that have good face up games and can also play in the low post are valuable in the modern NBA, and Moiso provides that. He is definitely a forward in the mold of Rasheed Wallace or Kevin Garnett. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
