Great move by 790. I couldn't stand that guy from the monsters of the midday. 610 is getting worse by the day. John Lopez was a terrible hire. Rich Lord still sucks. John McClian and Barry Warner suck too. That new guy in morning from Baton Rouge sucked too. 790 now has a solid group with Wexler, Jackson, and Charlie.
I guess they decided it was time to spend that CC money and get some personalities people like. I wonder WTF 610 is thinking, trading talent with 790? hahahahah good move!
Charlie on 790 is still the best personality on Houston radio. He has more sports knowledge in his pinkie finger than most others do in their entire body. He has the ability to debate with callers without sounding like a prick and always lets callers opposing his opinion have their say. 790 is going back on my AM dial for sure. In my opinion they have the best Morning Sports Show in Houston now.
So basically John Lopez was traded for Wexler/Jackson???...If Morey can do the same with TMAC we should be in dam good shape! :grin: Probably looking at 6-10 Wex/Jackson 10-12 Dan Patrick? 12-3 Ted Deluca 3-7 Charlie P. WOW...Really strong group
It all starts with Gavin at SR610, in my opinion. When Buffalo Bill was the Program Director they were at the top of their field in Houston Radio. Ever since CBS Radio went ultra cheap and fired him for a cheap replacement from Dallas, it has been bad decision after bad decision.
Remember Lezbo Craig was just brought in full time at 790. He is going to be in the afternoons with Ted.
If 790 somehow got David Nuno to do afternoon show there from like 11-3 they would have the four most knowledgeable sports radio hosts in Houston. I can't stand Ken Hoffman and I don't know why they took Nuno's solo show off the air for this Tim Brando crap who only talks about College Football 24/7.
WOW...I didn't know he was perminant now, just guessed it was another one of his weekly guest host. Not thrilled about Craig from his 610 days but listened to him and Ted a few days ago and they sounded good as a tandem so I am very encouraged.
I think 610, 790, and 1560 should pitch a Daytime Soap Opera to NBC. They could call it, "All My Radio Hosts" Sounds like a Daytime Emmy to me...
