not april 1? check 610 has made questionable personnel moves in the past? check rich lord loses his co hosts fairly regularly? check i'd say it's a good chance he's gone, but maybe not 1560. my guess would be he's going national.
I'll follow up by saying that over these last few days 610 has completely disgusted me with their Titans-loss-debacle coverage. Whoever coined the phrase "Texans Communist Radio Network" was a prophet. They've lost the only radio host they had who was even remotely critical of the teams the station had contract coverage for and, his UH homerism aside, the only one who didn't mind calling people out or talking **** every now and then. 1560 it is.
Matt Jackson is very talented and very passionate. I know he will do well in the future. Good luck MJ,
I listened to the 610 post Monday Night Football Texans radio coverage and Matt was sounding over it all... Seemed little off maybe because it was midnight he was ready to call it a night it just seemed a little strange.
He is going to 790, and someone else from 610 is headed there with him. But thats as far as it goes... 790 is about to have a very talented staff...
Yes but I cant say at the moment, he would kill me. I dont mind being flamed for "speculating w/o sources." Lets just say my best friend since Jr. High works for CBS Radio...
Don't worry Rowdy4Life, I got ya back bro... http://blogs.chron.com/sportsmedia/2009/11/jackson_wexler_leave_kilt_like.html November 25, 2009 Jackson, Wexler leave KILT, likely headed for KBME More Houston radio changes: Matt Jackson and Adam Wexler are no longer with KILT (610 AM), and their former boss says they are leaving to be morning drive co-hosts at KBME (790 AM). Gavin Spittle, KILT's program director, confirmed Jackson's and Wexler's departure and said it was his understanding that they have "an opportunity with Clear Channel." Michael Berry, Clear Channel's director of AM programming, had no comment. Jackson's afternoon drive slot alongside Rich Lord will be taken for the time being by Robert Henslee. Wexler will be replaced in the evening slot on KILT by Shaun Bijani, Barry Warner and others. Wexler, who has a separate contract with the Rockets for his involvement with the Rockets radio network, will continue in that role for the time being. However, Spittle said the station and the Rockets are in talks about a resolution to that matter.
Jackson and Wexler are co-hosting the morning show on 790. http://blogs.chron.com/sportsmedia/2009/11/jackson_wexler_leave_kilt_like.html
Ahh thank the lord. I didnt know if it was out or not. I have been holding in this secret since last week and it was killing me not being able to make a thread about it.
