I don't know about everyone else... but it's still seems obvious that something is still fishy with the existing refs.

The only way to fix this is to clean house imo.

Right..actually no it would not be. Most fans won't care enough to stop watching or going to the games. If steroids have tainted basically the last generation of baseball history and baseball players and STILL people are attending games at record numbers, I seriously doubt a few dirty refs in the NBA will be that big a deal either. It will just give people more ammunition to suspect wrongdoing whenever they see a blown call or one-sided refereeing, but like in baseball life will go on.

Even if it ain't true you still gotta admit the perception of the NBA is tarnished by the fact that they have the most totalitarian commissioner in the history of professional sports.

I'm just going to start referring to the 2005 Houston Rockets as NBA Champions.

It would be kind of difficult to do that since some refs are "company" refs and they are there to suit Stern's agenda anyway. Too many fishy deals (trades ,releases)/calls/no calls have been occurring in the NBA this last decade, and IMO, it is just way too much to overlook.

If true, these are all nothing but isolated incidents, right David Stern?

And then the NBA comes in and suddenly the guy no longer has a book deal for some reason. The NBA knows if the info gets out then they'd have a HUGE media backlash, and have to do a whole ****load of reforms of some kind.

Much easier to pay people off, or send some intimidating messages their way.

    End of story.

I think that it's naive to believe that the house doesn't need to actually be cleaned of David Stern himself. Any entity with a single person at its head for that long is simply asking for trouble.

I could just see it Dick "The Snowman" Bovetta, and Joey "The King" Crawford.

Dont forget about Tony Brothers...I would bet anything that Joey Crawford is involved to but I cant think of many others that noticebly blow games every time...One more thing, do the gamblers always bet on Jazz at home because refs are always horrible in Utah

Denial isn't the answer... it's pretty obvious the NBA is rigged.

I know, you would think that Joey Crawford is usually one of the starters on a team or something. I haven't paid much attention to Tony "The Animal" Brothers.

To those of you saying "this needs to not be true", I see where you're going.

On the same lines, I think it does need to be true. I think this would discredit certain championship winning teams in the last 10 years that need to be discredited. Also, it may lead to change. Denying it isn't going to motivate anyone to start hiring and firing referees,

Stern might be able to keep damage control over the NBA refs, but he can't keep over the people who have been involved with them...if it is true, then this thing goes way beyond them and it would be near impossible to keep everyone involved hushed, especially if it has been going on for multiple seasons.

I was happier with the replacement refs.

Sure, they reffed both teams without showing an obvious bias like the veteran refs.

The one thing that would make me more comfortable is allowing teams to have a black list of refs that they don't want reffing their games. The black list could be limited to 13 referees, since the gambler claims that's how many are out there.

If ref gets blacklisted by 29 teams, it's a red flag. He should quit reffing and join the 1 exception team as a consultant or become a professional gambler.
