Basically he has been our go to guy this season, he has been very consistent and has proven he can score and is worthy of a starting role. What do you guys think?
I really like him coming off the bench. He brings energy and a scoring punch, and also he plays very well with Lowry. Having him start would nullify much of what makes him a perfect fit for our team. He'd still be good, but would we win as many games?
Scola + Landry is not a good defensive combination against most starting teams. Landry fits in well with Lowry. I see no reasons to split up that combination. If he keeps up his play and can stay solid on defense, his minutes should gradually increase to around 30 mpg.
He won't start anytime soon. But he will be a starter in future. For me, the best thing this season is watching Landry's growing. He is becoming a special player.
The bench's ability to come in and take over the game is integral to the team's success right now. Lowry and Landry are doing their jobs admirably. Adelman knows what he's doing.
I agree. This is defensive minded team first, and defensively it makes sense to start hayes and scola. Landry can definitely start one day in this league, but on this team the way its set up. I think hes playing the right role. And he is an extremely important role on that. I think on this team especially it doesnt matter who starts cuz if ur playing well ur gonna get a lot of minutes anyway.
I've thought about this too but Landry's "D" hasn't improved as much as his "O" plus he is so important to the bench...Keep him as the top second unit guy in the league, for now.
Better not because I just traded away Troy Murphy for Luis Scola on my fantasy team. /sigh probably a mistake on my part.
Carl Landry should be a starter in the NBA. Should he be a starter for the Rockets? To answer that, I ask myself another question: who should he replace? Chuck Hayes? That would move Scola to the center position and hurt our low post defense considerably. Luis Scola? No, Scola is still better than Landry. Trevor Ariza? Shane Battier? No, someone will be out of position. While Landry is a potential starter on many teams, he just doesn't fit the bill for this Houston team. Not only that, but he has a good rapport and good chemistry with Kyle Lowry and I am not in favor of breaking up our bench 3-some.
I like seeing him compete for 6th man of the year, which he is doing quite nicely in his current role.
Carl Landry is the best player on the team currently playing. He is the best rebounder and the best scorer. He can post up, face up and shoot the mid-range jump shot. He is the only player currently playing who consistantly creates his own shot. I don't necessarily care if he starts or not but the man needs to play at least 30 minutes per game and needs to be in the game late in the 4th. No more repeat of the home game against the Lakers.
He is great off the bench and would be great as a starter. I just wish Chuck Hayes could grow another 5 or 6+ inches!
does it matter who starts or who comes off the bench on this rockets team? it's all about matchups. coach will adjust players minutes according to their performance and effectiveness during the game. but there's no question that landry can be a starter on many other teams. whoever starts is up to the coach. not us.
I love landry. his a men among childs <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dgk8VYHRgA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dgk8VYHRgA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
