Working for now. I was told I get paid until 5 no matter what, so I'm trying to finish as quickly as possible and get home to enjoy the house to myself for a few hours...
I did just pull an all-nighter for an exam this morning if that's considered work. Not to mention that it's eerie walking through an empty campus on a Wednesday.
I'm burning up unused vacation days. I have been out of the office since yesterday and won't return until Tuesday of next week. I get 5 weeks vacation per year and I had 3 weeks still left to use before Jan 1.
The joke itself was not, but the fact that the guy recently joined and had very few posts made it seem more plausible.
They sent an email out saying that we could leave at 3 but everyone is saying that we would get paid for those 2 hours. Right, the email clearly states that you would use vaca time or personal holiday time to compensate for those 2 hours, these people are confused. I'm staying regardless, too much work to be done....
here, office closes at noon but that only really applies to staff and hourly folk so i'll probably stick around a little past. it's too beautiful a day to spend most of the day indoors though.
All kidding aside... do you REALLY say "X-mas" when you write or speak it? SERIOUSLY, why shorten it? You're not offending anyone... are you? This just might warrant a D&D thread, but... I always wondered why it's shortened... I sometimes don't understand some U.S. colloquialisms and idioms just because they're... "nicer"...
