The target of NY is just go into playoff and do not need to be 2nd round. XD
I think a team with D.Lee, Tmac, AI will be higher chance than existing NY team.
And Rockets can try to lower the total salary and get some player who may help the team this year.

Plus the Knicks need to show that they can 'cater' for a big time star so that someone might actually want to come along and take their cap space.

If they bring in TMac, and he plays well, then they might actually win some games - which is pretty important since they have no draft pick anyhow.

They can also use his time as an 'audition' for the likes of Lebron James, "see what we can offer the big time stars?"

If TMac plays really well, then New York have brought in their 'star' already, then can just re-sign him and keep the fans happy.

New York is a perfect place for T-Mac. Most of the stars in the league enjoy playing at Madison Square Garden. It would be like a fresh start for him. Next year they can sign a smaller contract with him and that would attract free agents like Lebron or Bosh. It's also my home state, so no place better than there. Oh yeah, who wants Jazz to get a high draft pick? No one, so sending T-Mac there will mess up the Jazz's hopes.

I like this trade as well. David Lee is our kind of scrappy player, and Harrington is a baller. Still doesn't solve our size/ shot blocking issues though...

I say let Tracy play, see how he progresses with time, and if seriously he's a liability to the team, then trade.

We haven't even seen what he's capable of yet, why do you guys want to trade him off so quickly?!

There has to be something I'm missing here. The Knicks have no reason to want T-Mac unless they get to give us one of their crappy salaries: Jefferies or Curry. The Rockets have no reason to move T-Mac unless we're only getting expiring contracts(Knicks can't trade next year's pick).

I just can't see the match.

I'd take Lee over both Landry & Scola, Landry by a nose though. He's had more double doubles than anyone in the league the past 2 years.

JT could be better than Larry Hughes, but he's a rook and by the looks of it won't get much PT this year besides garbage time. Plus Hughes would only be here about half the season and get dumped, so no big deal in that.

He would be more like a throw in.

I give up, I don't see a reason why Morey would take in Curry or Jeffrie's conract. Lock thread.

Because a ny team with one leg tmac will be better than existing ny team
and have better chance to go into playoff. XD
Rockets can try to move cook with tmac and reduce the total player salary.

They may just want to take the chance to see if Mac can still play. It's not like they lose a lot in the deal, they'll still have the cap space for next year.

Well, Morey's not going to trade T-mac for the sake of trading him. So NY has to give up at least one young player. One that's automatically more appealing to a team long term than a 30 yr old broken down ex-superstar.

In D'Antoni's system? I find that hard to believe.

I dont think ny's young player have much trade value.
Their 1-year contract player will have more trade value, eg Mobley. ^^

If D'Antoni can make existing ny player to play in his system,
he should be able to do the same thing in tmac.

But i guess rockets will not want to trade tmac at this moment.

A good young piece, Hill or Chandler, and a couple of expiring deals and I'd at least consider it.

As has been mentioned the smaller expiring deals should be easier to move near the deadline and you get another quality role player to help the Rockets now.

    Get it done Morey.

That and I'd just be thrilled to see that loser TMAC gone, I want to punch his pompous ass in the face at this point. "When is wanting to play a bad thing?", how stupid does this MFer really think we are, go to hell MAC!

I haven't seen you post in a while

I'd take on Curry's contract if they add in Wilson Chandler for sure.

I been around man, just chillin.

No thanks on Curry, this year and next; I don't think Chandler has the upside to offset that, but if they offered up a pick as well I wouldn't hang up the phone.

The only way I'd talk to NY is if they still believed they were getting the best player in the move and not just trying to dump salary on us. It'd have to be expirings, Mobley and Hughes, and Hill or Chandler; otherwise I'd be comfortable waiting for the Mcgrady contract to expire or another team looking to unload longer salaries later in the year.

Problem is, I don't think the Knicks are going to give up Mobley's contract and Hughes since it wouldn't gain them anything more because they're going to expire after this year as well.

It would have to be (at worst) Curry or Jeffries plus one of their young players + a draft pick.
