I second both statements here. Landry has improved so much since his rookie year. His new offensive moves and his increased defensive presence (especially blocks) have really been helping our team out.

Also, I love that small lineup of Brooks and Lowry. Brooks really seems to thrive there.

I think Carl has figured out what he can and can't do on that knee. He's playing within himself. We won't ever see that same explosiveness as before but Landry's still one heck of a basketball player. Seeing him over come the physical and psychological effects of the knee and come back from being shot has really been impressive.

I've been saying it all along, but Landry is a star, and I would surely not trade him. I think that neither Lowry or Brooks are the better player, but I feel that they're actually underrated and can't stand when some couch gms on here suggest using them as filler in some of the stupidest trades that I've ever heard of. I do love this team and I feel that Morey is, for the most part, a genius. My favorite player on this team is Landry.

landry couldn't jump shoot, play defense, dunk over everyone, or do most of the stuff when the rockets drafted him.

But he is a strong reminder to all of us of what hard work can do, he increased his vert by 6" and amazed everyone when he came to play in february, avging an astonishing 60% from the field and nice numbers during the streak.

Then he came into camp last year with a jump shot which was dead on target, even though all of us found his form to be funny.

Now he is beating his man off the dribble, blocking shots, and CREATING for himself.

    I love this guy.

    Sweeeeet!

I haven't been able to see much of the Rockets since I don't live in Houston and lousy Comcast makes it difficult to download the full game torrents. Look forward to seeing the two guard sets when the Rox are on national TV.

This is exactly right. The only starter that could bring some points consistently would be Scola if they put Lowry as a starter. Lowry does open up a few more options and open looks with his play style, so I could be wrong, but I would rather have a better shooting threat on the floor than Ariza. Battier could wind up being a little more productive in that situation though.

Nah, he needs to work on his passing a bit more, especially his bounce pass. That thing is pretty ugly sometimes.

That should happen, because our bench is most often matched up against the bench players of the opposing squad as well. We are really 8-9 man deep.

I agree though that if our outside shots are not falling, the starters have limited options. Scola is vulnerable to being shut down on a double-team when Ariza and Brooks are missing their shots.

Our inside-outside game has to be on for either to be effective, which is what makes our bench great.

I'm glad Hollinger noticed Landry's and Lowry's achievements. They are such critical pieces to the Rockets. However i think scola and hayes are better defenders and rebounders and are the reasons why they start over landry. But there's no denying how awesome they are, especially Landry.
