I'm having a hard time buying that. NBA coaches are used to integrating players into their system on the fly. Anytime a trade occurs midseason, that's what the coaches have to do. Adelman is well experienced at it, and its not like McGrady is a guy he's never coached. 2 seasons ago the Rockets had a very successful second half, with McGrady playing major minutes. All the adjectives we're using right now (they just play together, they play hard, terrific chemistry) was used back then with McGrady playing. Does Adelman really think the Rockets are better off winning games with Ariza/Battier (who can't handle the ball properly) or Budinger (an impressive rookie, but a rookie nevertheless)? There has to be more to this than "fit". If you have a player with McGrady's talents at your disposal, and if your team is desperate for another shot creator in the half-court, "fit" should not be an issue. I think this is either health related (maybe its just a matter of McGrady working himself into "basketball shape"), or its a money thing, or there is real animosity between McGrady and everyone else.
Exactly, and I also don't get why they think TMAC's come back would mess up this team's chemistry when Tmac has been travelling with the team...
Ah, DD being the voice of reason. But all I want TMac to do is to shut up and start dominating the practice court with his play. That's not the same thing as doing it in games, but he has to start somewhere. The thing that I don't understand about 90% of the post here is that if TMac was really ready to play, you'd probably see quotes from Shane, Trevor, Luis and Chuck gushing about his courageous return from microfracture surgery. But we're getting diplomacy, if anything. I still want to know more about Clutch's tweet though. Adelman may be pissed off, but if this is going to get ugly, it's going to be with the full support of Morey & Les.
i think it's more simple than we're making it...last year tmac went out not just because of pain or discomfort, but also because of his timing and rythm. Lately he's been talking about that, not having his rythm, yet he seems to think it's ok to jump in and not have that. Usually you could argue a team needs it's injured superstar too much to not let them find their rythm in-game, but in this case we seem to be doing well and could probably hang on for a few more weeks, if not the season, without him. I think Adelman just got really upset over tmac going in and out of the lineup whenever he felt like it. Adelman has mentioned that many times and that's the only thing the players have actually referenced. "Not kowing who's going to play or not". That's about as close players got to pointing fingers and that's what i think truly bothered them as well because it messed with their rythm. To let tmac play just because he's physically able to is just asking for a rythmless team for more than a few games, that could really sink them. So i think they basically want him to be as 100% as possible, so when he does come back there will be no complaints, excuses, or setbacks.
How could he 100% before playing in an actual game? Why not let himself work into rythm by playing 10-15 mins a night?
Yeah..Tracy is being really patient. Everything that's been going on really proves that. Blind leading the blind.
this is getting wayyy too out of hand. I think I'm going to have to vacation from the GARM for about a week or so.
This poll question isn't answerable. Yes or No depends on how he looks in practice and how he sustains it over a period of time. There's no definitive answer at this point.
I want to know the following: 1. How does he look in practice? - Does he rebound aggressively - Is he moving laterally - Is he playing D at a high level - Is he moving the ball on offense - Does he play help D - Can he score at a high clip - Last but not least is he running the floor on both ends!! If the following is not happening in practice then Tmac should get his best suit ready and stay on the bench.
Yes Tracy is being really patient. He is just fired up, HE WANTS TO PLAY, but he will wait if coach and gm say so. WATCH THE FREAKING INTERVIEWS AND READ THE STORIES. It's a process.
I'm glad the Rockets Organisation can now move forward now that DD has given his approval/support. I know that DD is a big contributor to this board, i'm just posting for a little controversy so that I can get noticed. It's like when you goto jail, target the biggest, meanest person and punch them in the face. Sorry it was you DD
Did you miss the part where he sent an email to Yahoo saying he's playing on the Nov. 18th? Did you miss the part where he dug out his jersey and put it on to prove he's ready to play? Did you miss his most recent interview where he's whining and cussing about how he feels he's ready? You call that being patient??? Him shutting his mouth and listening to his coach and GM is what I call being patient. I would like to see that happen but unfortunately it won't.
T-Mac made the Rockets a successful franchise again, not Yao. I will miss him. I think a lot of people misunderstood him sometimes including myself. Redo Yao's contract and sign Wade. All is forgotten.
Did you miss the part where Yahoo can't get their story straight? It was mis communication. I did not miss the part where he dug out his jersey. No I did no miss the most recent interviews where he cussed on parts how the MEDIA was making everything crazy and NOT ABOUT HIS PATIENT. Oh yeah guess what, HE IS LISTENING TO COACH AND GM, HE SAID WHATEVER COACH AND GM SAY I GO ALONG WITH. In his recent interview he is clarifying everything and his pretty mad about how the media can say one thing change it and make this all nonsense. Maybe if you actually listened to what he said instead of just the parts you just want to hear, like the cussing you would know the truth.
Like I said before, the media is hyping everything up and make a big deal out of this when it is not. Tracy is back on the court practicing, trying to earn his spot back. Even Ariza said he looks great, hes doing all the things to earn his spot back. He is working for his spot and the media is so biased they want to make him look bad.
