Let him play! If he's washed up, as many here believe, it won't take long to become fact. But a T-Mac at 50% is better than 50% of the current roster.
It's a relief to see the results of this poll. From the loud and incessant venom thrown at T-Mac, I was worried a bigger percentage's goal was to simply have T-Mac fail at all costs. I am glad that a much larger group agree that a strong T-Mac can help the Rockets and genuinely wish that this would occur.
Except for the 72% majority in this poll that don't. lol Seriously, Rick needs to quit being a little p*ssy and deal with it. If he can coach Ron and anyone could coach Rodman, he can deal with this. He's getting paid for more than just Xs and Os. We want a little more talent mixed in with our above-average effort dammit.
If he could come back strong and play like two or three seasons ago, he would fit into the system. I expect he comeback and play good for the benefit of the rockets. I only want the rockets to win. (with or without tmac). If he goes, maybe he can play in a new team, if he stays, I will not cheer against him, I will cheer for the whole team!
I love the guy. I really do. The thing is if we can truly get a good offer for the guy I am all for it. The things is does anyone else actually see us getting anything of high value for him? We've got some amazing role players that are slowly growing and developing chemistry but no Superstar in the mix right now. Ariza is starting to look good but again he's just a role player. We definitely need a couple truly legit superstars on this team and we need them soon. We have great role players that just need a couple leaders and anchors before their window of opportunities are closed. Whether it be by trading Tmac or Yao, it just needs to be done.
the results of this poll make me sad. genuinely. if you cant see by now all of the trouble tmac causes for your team, your organization, your coaching staff, and the other players, then I don't know what it will take for people to get some sense. how many different reporters must tell you how much of a cancer this guy is? how many times must tmac blame everyone but himself? you REALLY think this guy is capable of humbling himself? really? what on the face of the bleeping planet makes you think that's even remotely possible? when has he ever done that in his entire freaking career? yet we could rattle off his cancer moments and not capture them all on all our fingers and toes and yet such a large number of you guys are still in denial that he's a horrible teammate and horrible guy to have around at all? it makes no freaking sense at all. open your eyes for god's sake.
I hope for number 2, but by Hopeful i understand that i have to be a little more realistic so i voted 4
I gotta go with him never wearing the uniform again (especially on days when he isn't even active). I would love for him to be able to humble himself and fit into Adelman's system, but I'm not sure that can happen and the risk you run by trying to fit him in is too steep. If he fails in trying to integrate to the system, you ruin the flow of the offense. He grinds the pace to a halt and we end up with a plodding half-court offense led by a less than healthy player who can't swallow his pride. Then the dominoes start to fall. Adelman is upset because he is ruining the flow of the offense and he and T-Mac are back to bickering back and forth. Then you not only are struggling with our on-court product, but you are really risking the team chemistry.
Everbody has this limping Tmac of last year in memory. I don't know why. That same guy played terrific under JVG and excelled in the uptempo style of Orlando. Give him 20 to 30 games to prove himself. What do we have to lose? Ruining chemistry is a bad excuse. How can one single player ruin the chemistry in this small sample of games? That player that has been a part of the STREAK. In the worst case he will come off the bench or ride the pine.
Whoops, I read the first poll option and thought it sounded good. Option 2 sounds better. I think he can add a lot if he plays within the system. He's a great passer and great shooter. Do I think that's going to happen? No. He'll be riding pine for a long time.
Tracy McGrady, who's my #1 fave player in the league, and the Houston Rockets, which I call home team.I'm hopeful that they will finalize some deals behind the door and eventually have a happy ending.
Not exactly. People are in favor of the happy ending. They want to see T-mac have his chance. But the means of that vary. I am sure some will want t-mac to wait until he's 100%. Some want him to come back now. But I think most of those 70% want him to come back only if he comes back as a contributor of course. If it's last year's shenanigans, that 70% will dissipate quickly.
I know this has been mentioned before but not often enough, we need to throw T-Mac down on the block. He's 6 foot 8 with excellent post skills and passing skills. I just don't know how this lineup would really look, there'd be an odd man out somewhere. But maybe Brooks, Ariza, TMac, Scola and Hayes, with Scola in high post, Mac somewhere 8-10 feet out from the basket where he can easily post up or shoot short jumpers, and then Hayes down on the low block to clean up. I think this would work well, plus if he has athleticism back, we can still run. I just don't want him bringing the ball up. Please no.
