Alton Brown did an extravagant amount of work to fry his. Mine is a little simpler if you really want it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KEPH2Zsi0Jc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KEPH2Zsi0Jc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CZE51ynJkLk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CZE51ynJkLk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
One year my roommate and I decided to have a Thanksgiving dinner of our own making. Well, sorta our own making. We went shopping looking for types of Thanksgiving food items only a bachelor could love. When we got home we realized EVERYTHING came in a round can or a log like package. We were pretty jazzed that we pulled it off and very happy with our well rounded meal.
I'm in charge of eating everything... I'm stuffing myself with mashed potatoes, turkey, and cornbread.
Nothing. I'm going to Austin for my very first vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner and I'm damn excited about it.
The only saving grace is my mom has promised a full-on Turkey feast for Christmas Dinner, complete with Pumpkin Pies.
*Turkeys -One brined "traditional" in the oven and one fried. *Mashed Potatoes *slow cooked green beans with bacon (not the casserole goo with fried onions on top, who likes that nasty stuff anyways?) *Corn bread dressing *Sweet potato and leek soup with candied pecans * Squash casserole Plus other items as we're holding the party this year. I think it will be about 16 of us.
My mom is recovering from a few surgeries she had in the past two weeks. She usually takes care of everything. Since the setback, My oldest sister and I are going to try to replicate, "moms dishes". Oh jeez, its going to be a train wreck. We have a really big family, so its quite a bit to do. I have 5 younger brothers that are 5, 6, 8,10, and 12. Its a huge difference in me being 29 Just trying to step up and bring things together. I am making everything but the turkey and the gravy.
I guess that means Thankgiving at her house. Why don't you tell that Jew of a stepdad to go ahead and buy a turkey specially for you.
