they have been sitting him out. if he did disrespect morey and adelman (the 2 front guys of the rockets right now), he should be publicly disciplined.
If they were going to trade tracy last yr, the team taking him wouldn't have cared if he was hurt or not similar to jermaine o'neal. The team trading wouldve only cared that his deal expires this summer.
Until a grievence is filed, i think this is a non issue. If tracy thinks he can play and the rockets say he cant, he will file a grievence with the union, a independent guy will hear the story, they will bring in league doctors and something will be done. They cant keep him out if he's ready to play. They could do him like they did tinsley and iverson, but if it was what some try to make it look like, they wouldve done it already like they did tinsley, iverson, thomas and so forth. Thats why i know its not like you blow it to be. His value is the contract, not his play.
I don't BLOW it to be anything...... And I think this will get to the grievance stage or right to it. I think the Rockets are going to milk the situation for as much $$$$ as they can from insurance, and being that Knees and Microfracture recovery are so varied, I think they believe their case can stand up. At the end of the day, in all honesty, I kind of want them to play him, and the first time he starts to huff and puff or not hustle, back to the bench he goes. Treat him like a rookie that has something to prove, because.....well, he does. DD
I don't agree with a lot of the things you say about mcgrady, but this captures how i feel. Let the man play and let's see what he's got left. Nothing to lose for the Rockets.
The only thing they could lose is developmental time for other players, but that is controllable. The minute he starts to ball hog, or not hustle, bench him. See, that is the problem, I don't believe Tmac would appreciate that, and I see no solution to this other than him going.... The sooner the better. DD
I think the idea about mcgrady interfering with younger players development is overblown. Budinger will find his way onto the court no matter what. If anything, I think Battier's minutes will be cut into--which may not be a bad thing.
battier is hindering cbud's development more than anything. with tracy out there, at least you can see someone with some offensive skills at work, which cbud and ariza can learn from. we don't need anymore standstill corner jumpshooters. we need more players who can create.
If that happens, and he is cleared to play I hope Adelman benches him and let him play garbage minutes like cook!!!
Tell me what Ariza will learn from McGrady that he would not have already picked up from playing with Kobe? If anything is overblown it's the whole "McGrady will teach our young guys how to be play makers" line of thinking.
Wow.. even with Tracy on the verge of being shipped out you Tracy supporters never give up. Tracy has the most loyal fans the GARM has ever seen.
My signature is 100% true......that is what I think...that it is better for the organization. That doesn't mean that is what I think will happen, there is a difference. It is hard to discuss things sometimes when people have no concept of context or abiltiy to discern the differences between things. Sigh. DD
