I could see Memphis taking a flyer on him for a 1 year min. deal. Still loved there from his Tiger days.
I think Dorsey showed what he can do when he played in the summer league. For some reason coach Rick has trouble getting through the athletic but raw type of players. Gerald Wallace is a great example of this. He was rotting on the bench behind Peja, Doug Christie, before the Kings stupidly let him get drafted by the Bobcats and getting chance to show what he kind do. I think the same thing is happening with Dorsey being stuck behind established proven hustle more hungry players in Scola, Landry and the guy he was suppose to beat out Chuck Hayes. So all I'm saying is he has talent, and all he needs is a team to let him use his talent, that does need a big man.
I think that it's pretty unfair to say that if he's never really been able to get on the floor. I know that it was only the summer league, but the man was a beast on the boards. I'd stick him in occasionally just to give him a shot to prove himself on the NBA level.
I never expected much from him. I know lots of folks here were hoping for good things after the ol' "I'm Ray Lewis with a basketball" comment but he has done next to nothing. You actually have to be good to call yourself "Ray Lewis with a basketball". Actually, maybe he is "Ray Lewis with a basketball". That may explain his lack of playing time on the basketball court. Wrong sport, Dorsey.
I like him, but too bad he is undersized. Funny thing is how so many naive members on this forum was so quick to claim Dorsey the next Landry the moment Landry was offered a deal from the Bobcats. Now we see the massive discrepancy between the skills of the two.....
TMac's making $23 million and about to get another big payday probably. I'm thinking Dorsey will be looking for $23 at the rate he's going.
meaning he's been unable to earn his minutes. he played in the preseason games, didn't he? it's not like adelman is like jvg and wouldn't let young players get their chances.
No doubt the Rockets wish he only had a one year deal. The guy just is not skilled enough to play..... DD
If Dorsey was release together the same time with Pops Mensah-Bonsu, would a team have picked up Dorsey like the Raptors did with Pops? I'm thinking no. Only a team that remembers his summer league rebounding and is lacking that would do it. I dont think he's quite a non-radar player like a Garrett Temple or someone like that, but he just hasnt had any game action to show what he can do. Even if he played 10 games at 10 minutes/per he'da helped himself.
