From what I understand, and there might be some Insurance agents in here, it will be broken up in percentage chunks....like 25% of games missed, 50% and so on. But I think the answer to you question is yes, for both Yao and TMac. DD
Even if that is the case, i don't see anything really ugly here. T-mac is not publicly complaining about not being allowed to play. He suited up because he wanted to make himself appear to be a man of his word. This isn't about the salary cap anyway. And as for your insurance rationale, does anyone here have the details of the contract / his policy????
Where do you get this from? There are a number of ways to read it. 1. He wanted to appear to be a man of his word. 2. He wanted to make a joke about the whole situation. 3. He was showing up the coach. I personally believe in number 2. Nah, all speculation, which is what a bulletin board is for....but Morey has mentioned insurance before when talking about him and Yao...so it is a reasonable though process. DD
You are absolutely right. Smart GMs will recognize that most of the top free agents will remain with their current teams. They will also recognize that not all of them will stay with their current teams. They will further recognize that the ones that aren't staying with their current teams can be bought. That's why McGrady's expiring contract is valuable.
I have looked at the rosters and salaries of all of the teams in the NBA, and have concluded that the list of potential suitors for Tracy McGrady's expiring contract is very short. I have also concluded that the teams that would be in that position would not offer anything of value to the Houston Rockets. Hence, Darryl Morey will look like a d******d if he does this move.
Yeah, what the heck, fans speculating and discussing the Rockets, on a FANSITE !!!! Shocking, eh? It staggers the mind that people b**** and moan about Rocket's talk on a Rocket's message board..... Amazing...... DD
Why would he want to create a "joke" about the situation? He hasn't been in uniform for over 9 months. He's a basketball player, he wants to play and wants to be with the team so he doesn't look like a total outsider when he comes in and plays. If he showed up yesterday in dress clothe, people on this forum would've of been like "T-Slack didn't even try to play, no heart". It comes to a point on this board where anything he does in the public eye (or not) is considered a burden to this team but when Ron Artest tells the world (right before we play Kobe Bryant) that Brandon Roy is the best person he's ever played against, everyone just laughs it off.
One thing I have noticed about the whole so called "T-Mac drama" is that unlike other "dramas" in New York with Marbury and San Fran w/ Jackson and Ellis, almost no national media attention has been given to Houston. I've found online articles but I have yet to see people on ESPN talk about this at all. Either Houston is not a big enough market or this issue is just being blown out of proportion by fans. What exactly has McGrady done wrong?
I've run into the same thing when it comes to McGrady and his fan club on here. No speculating, theorizing or even suspecting anything unless it's about him coming back and being Orlando Tmac with Kobe's killer instinct and Shane's commitment to the team. If these people had any sense of consistency the BBS would be nothing but box scores and cut and pastes of articles.
LOL ..you sure are finding ways to "b**** and moan" about TMac's so-called antics yesterday. And what's even more staggering is you using the b word after that little cursing episode you pulled not too long ago..
Dude get over yourself...your the one b****ing and moaning...Its not that you speculate, its that you speculate the same thing over and over again....about how much Tmac is going to hurt our chemistry and how much the organization doesnt want him. Youve made your point thats cool but you dont got to make a 300000000000 times a day. Lets just wait and watch what happens...
Please stop quoting DD. You're ruining it for those of us who are tired of him constantly repeating the same **** about Tmac and have chosen to ignore him
DD's argument about Tmac has taken up over half the space of each thread... without him we'd have no Clutchfans.
