Then why take him on road trips and keep him on the bench on every game?. again, i find it hard to believe McGrady's MF's surgery could have been overcome in 3 months.
All we can do is compare similar situations.....which is what we are doing. What I am saying though is just watch the videos of him working out, jumping up the stairs on one knee then the other, and doing sping moves off his repaired knee shows me a lot. He looks ready, but the organiztion is taking a hard line on him...... To me it looks like they want him to conform to their way of playing hard.....on offense, defense and running.... And Tracy over his history has not run without the ball, does not play consistent defense and I think the Rockets are worried that he will come in and screw up the chemistry. That is my opinion anyway. DD
Not only is McGrady ahead of schedule, but he is practically playing in a completely different team from last year. You don't honestly expect the organization to throw him in the lineup and hope he'll fit in immediately right? Then again if the organization did do that, you'll probably be questioning the organization's decision putting McGrady in so early and prematurely. Now if every single report we get is a fully healthy McGrady ready to play but RA is still refusing to play him, then we know the organization has officially moved on without him.
so listening to doctors and sticking to the exact same timeline that has been out there for awhile means he is ready to play because you saw him hopping around for a few seconds in a video? Just because someone is doing physical therapy doesn't mean they are near ready. Would you be happy to see him come back before doctors orders (which you would likely criticize as well lol) and reinjure the knee a few games in?
I don’t think that anyone would deny that Rick Adelman is a very good coach. Obviously, Rick is watching McGrady in practice and does not like what he sees. If he did see that Tracy was playing great in practice, he would be saying that Tracy would return if the MRI on November 23 turns out well. By Adelman saying that there is no timetable, he is basically saying that Tracy is not ready. My guess would be that McGrady is not in shape to play the type of run and gun offense that Adelman is currently running, and I won’t even comment on the defensive part.
The whole Nov 18th fiasco makes me believe that more trouble is brewing on the horizon regarding Mr. McGrady. They can only play the "We want to make sure you are 100% healthy" for so long, because then it becomes..."We want you to play hard all the time" and that is a completely different conversation and one that will not go well. I expect that the Rockets may play him some, but that he will NOT be happy with his role or touches, and this will get ugly. That is how I read it. DD
For sure. I think we all love when he can use his length to finish at the rim. I think our fastbreak might be slowing down a little bit lately, and it starts with our defense and defensive rebounding. It will all look much nicer when we have a first option, and the efficiency will rise. Honestly though, Trevor is doing a MUCH better job than Ron ever did as a main option. I am excited about that. DM destroys another GM AGAIN!!! PS I do think Chase could be one of those rare 50-40-90 guys one of these days.
Or maybe he is playing it cautiosly?. tmac is not even doing full court drills yet. there not going to allow him to over do it till the medical staff the knee is healed or not.
He was playing full court in Chicago, but Houston shut him down...... It just reeks of a "We are in charge, not you" situation. Seriously, I think this is going to blow up at some point in the near future.....and not in a good way. Which doctors Robbie, the ones that said he did not need microfracture, or the one that did? Look, feel however you like, what I am saying is that there is more than just medical opinions here, this reads like politics......as well. DD
Of course he expects a double digit salary. Not only does he expect it but he thinks he deserves it and would consider it an insult not to get it. If he is healthy enough he probably even thinks he should get a max deal. That's his reality. If he comes back healthy he is still one of the top ten talented players in the league. Unfortunately his type of talent doesn't necessarily help the team. The league knows this now and won't spend anything close to what he thinks he deserves. But he does draw in the crowds when he is healthy so perhaps there will still be some upper single digit salaries thrown his way and maybe some lower doubles.
How he handles this current situation will determine his next contract, if he starts whining about touches, or his role, I expect his offers to drop down significantly into the MLE range. I just wonder if the Rockets are playing a game here, where they are either hoping to trade his expiring or, drive down Tmac's value around the league. Anyone who thinks this is purely medical is being Naive IMO. This is a game of poker between Tmac and Morey...and right now the Rockets hold the leverage, but after the trade deadline, Tmac holds it.
