    Hulk Hogan Injury in Sydney

Hulk Hogan was injured by rival Ric Flair in Sydney, Australia during a Hulkamania promotional press conference at Star City. A reporter at the event describes the scuffle:

Central’s photographer Phil Rogers had his flash broken when Ric Flair threw a table off the stage and into the press gathering before diving on photographers.

Media were stunned as the Hulk’s head began bleeding profusely and confusion broke out when the veteran wrestling star was unable to get to his feet.

This reporter narrowly missed being struck with the table and photographers ducked and weaved as Ric Flair took off his trouser belt and began to whip anyone within range.

It seems odd to see two old wrestlers getting into a brawl at a press conference, but I guess when you need the money you’ll put on a good show, even if it means someone has to get hurt for real. For Hulk’s sake we hope this is fake. Head injuries can be fatal, especially at Hulk’s age.

Had to double-check the date of the OP...just to make sure it wasn't resurrected from 1986.

Hulk took Flair's job at the press conference. I am ready for the steel cage match to be set, or a last man breathing match at Wrestlemania!

If something like that really happened, how would we know?

While there have been real instances of violence in wrestling, this wasn't one of them. Complete work.

Look up the Mass Transit incident though.

Or when New Jack and Vic Grimes were involved in an attempted murder during a scaffold match.

Or when David Schultz took out John Stossel for saying wrestling is fake.

Probably by the criminal charges that might follow.

Or at least by the firing of Ric Flair from Hogan's Australia tour.

Well as a wrestling fan, just by looking at Hogan's face being all bloodied you can tell he cut himself when he went down. There is no way a punch from Flair could cause that much lol.

Seriously. How many times have you see ANYONE get punched where blood covered their entire face? Even when you get a broken nose it doesn't bleed the way they bleed in wrestling. The gushing forehead is hilarious.
