^ Instead of cutting Bud's minutes, Battier should lose his. He's the least productive on the offensive end. He should just come in the game for defense during critical times.
One more McGrady update. He did shoot extremely well in customary pregame routine. He finishes from 28 to 30 feet and hit about 70 percent. Isn't John getting excticed?
IMO, there going to let it ride for a bit see how the team looks and acts with Tracy around them. At a certain point around the Trade deadline is when the fireworks should go off, only thing is Battier is PERFECT trade bait but they love him so darn much don't know if there willing to let him go.
Rockets staff don't lie. TMac will get an MRI on the 23rd, and then we will have a much clearer picture what is the haps with McGrady. But, by all means, let's speculate and freak out that we haven't heard anything in the news this week
You do realize Battier and Budinger are shooting at the exact same clip (41%) right? You also realize Ariza is only shooting 39%?
Before you decide that mcgrady returning will do no good conscider the way Brooks, Budinger, Ariza have played the last two games: combined: 28-73 for 38 percent shooting. 76 points on 73 shots. 15 turnovers. Only 5 FTA. Not very efficient. We can improve. Mcgrady will keep the turnovers lower and get to the line more. He'll also allow Ariza to stick to what he does best: spot up shooting and slashing. Another thing. Mcgrady back in the lineup will allow scola to play more off the ball instead of in the post, and this will increase his efficiency as well. I'm looking forward to seeing tmac back out there. See what hes got left.
39 is not too bad considering the amount of 3's we shoot... If Ariza wants to take the next step, he must add a post game, and a mid-range game pronto. It might be too late.
Tmac's mid-range game had allways been very, very good, but in the last year or two he could'nt get the lift needed. hopefully now that the knee is finally pain free, that once automatic mid-range game will be back.
Hypothetically : TMAC comes back at FULL TMAC . . back 100% He still will not be a Rocket in 2010 - 2011 season Age + Injuries + Drama means he will probably NOT get a upper double digit million dollar contract. I cannot see THE ROCKETS paying him 15+ Million a year. But . . . if he shows well . . i think someone else will. Honestly . . . I would be hard pressed to give him 10 Million/Yr Even if he 100% Rocket River
Good point. If Battier is in a trade, we will get a stud back. DM and Rick view him as an all-world basketball player, as they should. So these Vanilla Gorilla trade proposals need to go. I must say, much like Kevin Martin, Rudy Fernandez would be an interesting fit in our offense though.
what exactly are you thinking will they find out after the mri? this mri stuff is total bogus because the mri will only show them something if t-mac re-injured his knee. everything else was already seen in past mris. people don't get it. mcgrady is either healthy by now or he's done since the summer. no need for more mris, it's just a matter of being in basketball shape. the truth is that mcgrady could've been playing already if the rockets really wanted him to. but they didn't. and it seems they still don't.
I doubt he expects a high double digit salary. I would have serious issues with paying him more than 3 years 30 million.
I can feel his desire to get back in the court...if he really hit more than 70% of the shots he made, then i say hurry up and put him back in the court ASAP, just to see how he'll do in an actual game. But i think he ain't lying, he's about ready. I can't see why they don't hurry up a little with putting him back in the court..
I concur.. he doesnt get more than 15 million for 3 yrs in my books.. although is very good..he is gonna get injured again anyway and miss out atleast 30-40 games..
his shooting declined in every area. he was worse from mid-range, he was worse beyond the arc and he was worse from the free throw line. you can tell that his poor free throw shooting had nothing to do with him losing a step or getting no lift. last year, though, he looked really great from the line and from beyond the arc. that was the only positive thing for him last season. he had probably worked on it in the summer while recovering from his first knee injury.
