I wouldn't be too worried about the injury. First of all he still has plenty of time to recover by the start of the season. Second, he's only a rookie so you really shouldn't expect too much from him this year anyways.
Because this dude is white, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him, but this can't be helping out his case. I follow basketball quite closely and knew exactly who he was when he picked him #15, but I can say for sure that 80% of people were saying "Sebastian who?" when we nabbed him there. This current injury probably isn't gonna bode well for him either. I just think we'll be haunted down the road for not picking Qyntel or Kareem Rush.
They had hernias but not all hernias are in the groin region. Whenever you hear "abdominal," it often refers to hiatal hernias which are actually tears in the diaphram. They can be caused by all kinds of things and not just overexhertion.
Dude, what the hell are you talking about? I guess you respect me a lot, too.....right? Almost everyone had him on their mock draft, so it was no surprise.
The Houston Chronicle on June 28th mentioned that Nachbar had a groin injury.I hope that it won't be too bad and the doctors will have more news for us soon.
ejax06 Sorry for all the bad thaughts and vibes but you must give us a souce or reference when presenting such dramatic news!! Congrats on your Scoop.
Perhaps I should better explain my blather. And yes I admit it was blather. By saying that I had respect for Nachbar's whiteness, I was referring to the dying percentage of quality caucasians in basketball today. Also, unless you're a basketball nut(pretty much everyone on this board), you had probably never heard the name Bostjan Nachbar before draft night. It's not a stretch to say that a good percentage of Houstonians flipped through their Chronicles on June 27, read that the Rockets drafted Bostjan Nachbar, and either spit out their coffee or said, "Who!??". With bitter memories of men named Mirsad Turkcan and Serge Zwikker from draft day's past, I'm sure Rocket fan could not have been more thrilled than to pick up his newspaper and have to ruminate on the name Bostjan Nachbar. Boki's latest injury couldn't have helped either. Get my point? Hopefully. And sorry, no I do not have a Mandarin translation.
Forget all of the apologies and whatnot. Since ejax06 didn't ever return, I would still like to know where the information came from. Thye fact that it turned out to be legitimate makes me wonder where it came from even more. So, ejax06, if you are still lurking around, could you still tell where you heard this originally?
This is the most incoherent BS Ive ever read. My god, better get the DVD version with English subtitles and not the VHS. Are you BTM reincarnate?
Nachbar to undergo operation for hernia By MICHAEL MURPHY Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle UPDATE Status of the Rockets' injured players: • Steve Francis: Has been "awesome" in workouts after shoulder surgery in May. • Bostjan Nachbar: Will be sidelined for about three weeks after hernia surgery. • Glen Rice: Working out after recovering from torn patellar tendon. • Maurice Taylor: Moving well after missing last season with torn Achilles' tendon. When the Rockets get back to work today against the Memphis Grizzlies in the Southern California Pro Summer League, they will be short one body. Bostjan Nachbar, the 6-8 Slovenian small forward who was the 15th pick in last month's NBA draft, returned to Houston to undergo hernia surgery and will miss about three weeks. It was originally thought Nachbar, 21, who last year averaged 13.7 points for Italian power Benetton Treviso, had a strained groin. Further tests revealed the hernia. "It's really no big deal," said Rockets trainer Keith Jones, who is in Long Beach with the summer-league team. "When we first discovered (the hernia), we thought we could try and get him through the summer league. But it was really bothering him, so we just told him to forget it, to go home and get it taken care of. "He'll get the surgery done, sit out two or three weeks, and then he'll be ready to go. Like I said, it's really not that big a deal."
COMMUNIST. You guys are ALL COMMUNIST. This is the red scare. You're either with the rocks, or against.
The latest is there's a possibility that Nochbar may not even need the surgery. He consulted with the doctors today. os
This injury sounds kinda like what a roommate of mine had. He had the operation and was back to doing light workouts in a few weeks. Nachbar should be all well and good by the time training camp starts.
