That's funny. They go down, then (cut prices) dip back up a little, go down, (cut prices some more) dip up some, go down, and finally realize price cuts don't sell more products anymore. The fad is over. It makes you realize how much people overpay for crappy merchandise. Companies can slash the prices 4-5 times and still turn a nice profit.
Haha yeah right...nothing close...I'll let you know when I crash my Buggatti then i'll be the baller.
I don't care for True Religion jeans, but I don't see what the problem is with someone buying them. I mean some folks spend 50 bucks a pop at Fogo de Chao, and all they get is one meal. Or any other expensive meal for that manner. With jeans at least you can use it over and over again. I personally prefer jeans from Pac Sun.
Agreed. Some people spend all their money on video games, computers, tv's, booze, drugs, shoe collection (Jordan's), expensive food like you mentioned etc. Everyone has their vice. Designer jeans happen to be for some.
If you can afford them, more power to you. I personally do not really like them, but I have tried some on and they are comfortable. Just rather not spend $200 bucks on jeans, I rather by Rockets tickets
The biggest scam in jeans these days is that none of these fancy jeans are made in a super dark wash. The light dark jeans hold up about a month or maybe 4 washes before they fade. Dark wash jeans last about 3 times as long.
You communicate that you're the kind of person who can afford $200 jeans. I'm guessing most luxury car brands, restaurants, golf courses and private social clubs of every kind work the same way.
See the thing with Fogo de Chao is this. If you love steak then it's well worth the price. If you go to a good steak house and get a filet mignon and pay 35 - 45 bucks ore more for one steak why not pay 50 bucks or better yet go for lunch pay a lot less there and eat as many filets as you want. If you add up the amount of steak you eat there it will easily add up to a hell of a lot more than you would at a steakhouse for the same price. It's definitely worth it if you have an appetite and love steak.
7 years? How in the world are those jeans not faded or worse lost their shape? Did you know that basically every jean made today is some sort of ripoff of the Levi's 501 jean? Levi's are the most durable jean made in my opinion and they certainly don't last me 7 years, in terms of fade and shape anyway.
I dunno but they do last...yeah they are faded a bit more and look worn but that's the appeal of a lot of jeans today anyways. They try and make them look all worn out. I just have a pair that are that way right now. Of course I do switch out the jeans that i have. Not like i wear the same pair but most of my jeans have lasted a long time.
I guess if you're a jean connoisseur and can tell the difference in quality between Levis and True Religion that would make sense. True Religion is 6-7 times as expensive. There is a marked difference between a $10k car and a $70k car. There is a marked difference between a combo meal and a meal at Fogo de Chao. However, as a jeans layman, I can't tell the difference between Levis and True Religion other than TR uses different color threads and their pockets are lower, etc. Just a different style... not a total elevation in quality you would expect for something 7x expensive.
Yonkers, don't you use a Mac? Ok, just kidding.... I have no idea what the deal with $150-$200 jeans is. But I haven't given a flip about fashion since I was a kid and I couldn't afford anything then, so it didn't matter. I'll take a $10 t-shirt and some $30 Levi's. lol. I knew I was old when I saw people wearing jeans that were turning green and looked like they'd been dragged behind a pickup for 50 miles, but it was fashion. I remember back in the day that jeans that looked green/brown meant that they hadn't been washed in ages. Now it means you spent $75+ on them, I guess. I think fashion is about the most hilarious thing people spend money on, to be honest. You can argue Mac buyers pay too much for what they get, but they have pretty solid arguments. You can argue that a Lexus driver is just buying a Toyota, but they have their own arguments that I can understand. But damn if I can figure fashion out when people pay 3 times as much for 1/3 the appeal sometimes (and yeah, I know it's subjective).
My family works in textiles and there is no real quality difference between TR and saaaay, Levi's. If anything, TR has lesser quality. What you are paying for is embellishments, cut, and fit... and of course brand name. IMO TR jeans are trash. The only jeans that warrant a true $200+ price tag are the ones made in Japan on old vintage looms and using cotton imported from places like Zimbabwe. But that's a whole different conversation in itself.
I've always thought these jeans look pretty ridiculous on guys with those button on the back pockets. Personally for the last several years I have been wearing Lucky brand jeans. They cost around $80 - $90, but they do last for quite a while. I can wear them for several years and they still look and fit good, so I think they're worth the price.
