I admit it - I'm a Rocketfanatic, Rockethead, die-hard fan, etc. I visit this site almost every day to keep up with the Rockets (especially when I'm on the road; cc.net was a lifesaver when I was stuck in Australia for a year).

I enjoy the speculation from all the GM-wannabees; the 14 year-olds who've never played competitive basketball and who don't really understand that pro-BB is a business and sometimes decisions will get made that don't seem to make sense; the posturing of those who'd like us to think they "are in the know"; the (most of the time) arguing about who does what best. Many posts are immensely interesting, once you get by the author's inate biases. Many others are funny beyond belief in their absurbity. Opinions are like a certain physical part of the body - we all have one. So keep those posts coming. You have a right to free speech; what may seem stupid and uninformed to one reader is illuminating to another.

However - speculate and rumor all you want, but be careful. Popeye's post that caused a lot of heartburn was a little over the top. I believe there are outsiders (such as Rockets management and the NBA) who do visit this site (among others); they're businessmen and they really are interested in how the "product" is being perceived by the consumers. The ubiquitous "they" also have rules, and I'm not surprised that they do everything possible to make sure that their rules (however incredulous they may seem to us) are being followed. Big Brother's not everywhere, but none of us know where he'll be next. Think no one checks your e-mails or web surfing at work? Don't be too sure.

Clutch and his Admins have access to some info that not everybody does. They've built relationships that are no different than any business or political or educational relationship. Violate that trust and the source dries up faster than your mother's milk when she takes you off the teat.

So keep on speculating, keep on posting. Maybe some NBA GM visiting this site will think your "wish list" makes sense and will trade us a McGrady for a Drew and a Williams. I doubt it - but it still is fun.

"Who Wants To Be A Rocket?" - and probably a millionaire as well. The off-season will be interesting!

    never...never!!!

Only Lucifer could make such a compelling invitation to the temptations of speculation. Hiding behind a unassuming Anglican first name now I see.

Help me Sky Pilot (clever monikor for Angel). We must cast him out!!

You know, I just learned about how the mother's milk dries up yesterday. The human Body is a cool thing. I also learned that there is a serum the mother gives at birth to the baby before the milk can start flowing, so to speak. Anyway, what were you talking about....
