LOL Camby? He is GARBAGE. Kenny Smith is dead on when he says we need a superstar. Someone who commands doubles, opens up scoring opportunities for others, a playmaker and can take the offensive load. You see it time and time again on this team, when no one can make a shot everyone is too scared to shoot. Guess who fixes these problems? T-Mac. Please do not say a Rockets team with Camby is better than a T-Mac led Rockets team. We do not need any more role players. We need TALENT.
The TRUTH is that an insurance company is paying McGrady's salary, why would the owner want him back early? The team is playing well without him, and I don't think many people in the organization have high hopes on this guy anymore.
You know this how? Maybe there being cautios since mcgrady dosent have a great record of knowing he's body. but that for condjucture. noone knows so dont act like you know it for a fact. go support the raptors troll
Troll?.....lol. I've been following this site since the clutchcity.com days...was a Rockets fan before I was a Raps fan, everyone in here has tmac/ming/rocket/franchise as a username, wanted something different, so chill. I do post like a know it all, I admit that, but its just a message board, so deal with it.
And when he attempted several times to play through a knee injury that required surgery, what was that? The pre-contract year?
deep down, tracy does want to play and help us win. he went about it the wrong way last year. hopefully he listens to morey and adelman and just stick with the 11/23 date, which appears he will.
I disagree with the analysts. The main reason they dont want Tmac to come back now is because they dont want a repeat of last year where he came back too early. Coming in and out of the lineup was hurtful to the team chemistry, so I'm ok with the Rockets taking as much time as they think is right before they bring him back.
Like someone said earlier, it's really simple. We tried it his way last year and it didn't turn out so good. This year we take a different approach. Simple. But, and like the rest, I have no idea what long term plan the organization have for Tracy. Whatever step they take now is the first step of a longer plan.
Agree 100% with Kenny Smith, the rockets need Tracy. He's the rockets best player and only true playmaker that can command a double and triple team. The team needs Tracy back and a also needs to aquire a true shotblocking presence to make some noise in the west.
You nailed it. For sure the organization does not want a repeat from the on and off fiasco from last year.
What Kenny is really saying is: "When I played, I needed a superstar"....... And he is losing perspective as are some fans here on the board. This year is NOT about winning....or contending, it is finding out who will be here next year, when Yao gets back. So, Tmac is really not part of that equation, adding another talented wing does not make the team that much better.... Adding a talented shot blocking big makes it a LOT better. Therefore a lessor player would have more impact than Tmac...because he would fill a need.....Tmac would be supplanting an already talented group of wing players.... Sure we would get better, but not in the areas that we are weak.......that is the problem..... DD
It seems that Rockets management has moved on. It looks more and more like Tracy needs the Rockets more than the Rockets need him. I think this says something about the Rockets' confidence in Yao coming back nearly 100% from his injury by the time next season rolls around. If that's the case, I believe the Rockets will be leaning towards moving Mcgrady for a lesser player(s) plus future cap flexibility. The way the team is constructed now is still very much conducive to a Yao-centric offense. The greatest weaknesses of this Rockets team are a lack of a go-to scorer and rebounding. They've already proved they're a good fastbreaking team, they play unselfishly and tenaciously on defense, and they're able and willing to pull the trigger from the 3. Add in a healthy Yao, it fixes the rebounding and lack of a go-to scorer problems, while improving the outside shooting. The Rockets are close people, we are very close to getting back into the championship discussion, as long as Yao stays healthy, which is a big IF. But, I do think that Morey will end up improving this team in someway by dealing McGrady for added depth and future cap flexibility.
thank you. finally someone who shares the same train of thought. IT IS NOT ABOUT THIS YEAR. Seeing the Rockets play so well right now makes me giddy currently, but makes me more excited about our potential next year when Yao returns, healthy hopefully. Call this the mulligan year that ends up making everybody better.
The video never mentions McGrady coming back too early last year and the Rockets wanting to see him at a full practice. That is the reason why the Rockets said no to his come back date of Nov 18. Rockets do not want to make the same mistake as last year.
That's exactly what I was hoping for, but also for McGrady to be 100% healthy and playing well by the end of this year!
Once again another year of flip flopping for me in regards to keeping TMac or not. It is just that a healthy TMac is awesome but it is not a guarantee that he will be 100% when he comes back and to what extent will his play have on the team. I hope all gets answered soon enough. The real experts are the coaches and gm that get watch TMac in his practices. I will leave it up to the experts that are there and hope for the best. Go Rockets!!!
Actually this year is about winning and seeing who will benefit this team in the future. Not just who will be here next year. I guarantee you Daryl Morey will not simply get rid of T-Mac just to fix our lack of rebounding or shot blocking problems. The only players DM will get rid of T-Mac for are potential or established superstars. He is just way too talented to get rid of for just role players. And sure as hell not a washed up Marcus Camby. This team needs T-Mac. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
Healthy Tmac can make this team much better offensively. We need player who can create for himself and others in half court. right now once Brooks is trapped, our half court offense is terrible since AB is not tall enough, nor he has the vision to find open teammates at the right time. Tmac does those things much better than AB. Camby's defense is overrated even though he is good at that. He's too soft, gets good rebounding and block stats but his impact on defense is much less than the stats showed. Denver's D isn't much worse without him and Clippers' D isn't much better with him.
