still if Les had (allegedly) made a deal that he'd play Chuck back later for taking a 5 million$ pay cut to sign Pippen, Les should have paid him.

Also, Barkley was incredible for attendance and national TV spots for the Rockets.

See fans in the stands in that clip?

I agree with tinman on this. Barkley took the cut for the Rox, but got hurt in the interim. He was good for the Rox.

Wouldn't pay Barkley, wouldn't pay Hakeem, fired Rudy, fired Calvin (before rehiring him after people complained), fired Turbo - thank you Less Alexander.

it's on five days a week right? what ever happened to that Jamaican guy ( his accent was different) who was a Miami Heat fan who called up all the time?

    Call this the Barkley lesson.

    1. Nobody will ever sacrifice their salary again to sign another player for the sake of winning a title.

    2. Nobody will ever sacrifice their salary again while LES is the owner because of this incident.

I'm more surprised by the jet refuting "his rockets" than chuck's statements. kenny's lack of support for rockets has always surprised me.

that wasn't "his rockets". That was Steve Francis's Rockets.
Kenny and Charles never played together. I believe that was what he meant.

you haven't been watching TNT much have you?

Kenny last year predicted the Rockets to be in the Finals.

The "Kenny doesn't like the Rockets" is a thousand times more false than any Barkley hates Rockets myths

The jet wore a freaking RED blazer last year in support of the squad and pretty much gives us props all the time when deserved of course. He was literally gushing over the Houston "Pitbulls" last year vs the Lakers. Jet is cool in my book even if he does pick against us from time to time plus I still remember game 1 vs Orlando. :)

Kenny has the insider knowledge of Les and how he treated our players. Les is... sigh... definitely not popular/personable. He screwed Chuck, and I can't believe the organization couldn't reach an agreement with Hakeem to keep him here til he retires. Les is cold, he'll use you til you're dry and once that happens he'll kick you to the curb.

That Pippen signing was the worst all time in Rockets history. Barkley's problem stemmed from that. But I'd say that whole thing wouldn't have happened if they did not trade Horry and Cassell for Barkley. To this day, I still don't think that was a smart move.

Yup, I believe Hakeem is now friendly with Les because Hakeem is a humble and forgiving person.

The organization should have treated Hakeem better, seriously who cares if he wasn't good anymore in his final years? Anybody remember Bird's last year?

Bird, Magic, Jordan got treated so much better by their organizations.

How fast did it take Chicago to put a statue of Jordan? Ok, how long did it take to get any Hakeem tribute at Toyota center?

    it's not about feeling sorry.

if you got screwed over for sacrificing for the team, you'd be unhappy too.
    $3 million is $3 million.

I get mad if I get screwed over by $20 bucks on something.

Before he came to the Rox I didn't think much of him but he impressed me with his game and guts. Yes, he had issues, but in the end he sacrificed salary to win a title for, of all the Pipsh!t players in the league, and in the end got screwed from an injury. He played on that bum thigh until he couldn't take the pain any longer.

The drop it in and back away game was dull but effective. And there were only a couple players who could slow Barkley in the low post.

Yao is not going to play for the minimum so somebody else is going to sign.
