I havent caught any games on ESPN this year (well the rox arent playing you know) but during halftime of the Rockets game last night I switched over to the Magics/Cavs game and I heard both JVG and Hubie Brown paired with Mike Tirico doing the game. I was excited, really excited. Those two by far are the two most insightful commentators (IMO) on television today and to have the two paired up (I'm sure jvg is glad he doesnt have to deal with the gimmicky Mark Jackson) I really wished I was able to watch the entire game to hear the two banter but the little I did hear was great and again they both noticed the same things about areas and agreed on points. I really hope ESPN keeps those two together doing games with either Mike (Breen or Tirico) doing play by play
I really get tired of listening to Marc Jackson. He's always starting sh$~ trying to get JVG pissed off. He says the dumbest things and gets extremely defensive when JVG says "are you kidding me?" I usually just hit mute.
Hubie Brown is my least favorite person. The only thing that comes out of his mouth is statistics.... "Nash is great, not only will he give you 17 points and 10 assists, he will shoot around 50%, and 90 from the line, Steve Nash is good". That is basically what he offers and nothing more.
I think there is a thread about this already, but This is terrible news. JVG is my absolute favorite commentator while Hubie Brown is BY FAR the WORST in the biz. He is so boring anf not fun at all to watch. I don't care about his "basketball insight" which is generally nothing more than basic commonly known basketball facts, I want to be entertained.
you guys don't like mark jackson? i love the dude "hand down, man down" "you better than that" dude's hilarious, though i don't agree with everything he says.
Hubie Brown is usually nothing special... I mean yeah, he's better than Jackson, but nothing great. JVG is by far and away the greatest commentator they've ever had, though.
If I hear "Mama there goes that man" one more time, my brain might explode. Hubie Brown is the opposite end of the spectrum--all substance, no style. I actually enjoy his insights.
As I stated earlier on this thread, http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4874217&postcount=17 It was more like Jackson picking on JVG 'cause he had nothing intelligent to say. Kinda' like someone stepping on another to 'raise' their level. JVG deserves a better sidekick than a one-trick-'mama-there-goes-that'-pony. I hope ESPN gives the Hubie/JVG combo some time to gel 'cause I like it better.
