The bad defense fed into the bad offense. That was the worst defense I've seen the Rockets play in quite some time.

David Andersen needs to go for the block or take a foul or something. Don't just stand there like a statue with your hands in the air as the guy goes around you. So frustrating to watch him.

Because he probably had to make a call, we throw our starters back, play hard and maybe win and than go into Memphis or rest the starters knowing we can't do crap to stop Dallas from scoring and try to split this b2b with a 1-1 record.

True statement. Shots not falling is OK, play defense like that put us into New York category.

5-1 Sounds so much better than 4-2. 5-2 sounds so much better than 4-3. I hate regular season statistics. They don't mean anything.

This Rockets team needs to lose games like this. They need to know nothing will be handed to them. It will take hard work all season to do some damage in the playoffs...if they make it.

When Dirk just walked by Scola for back to back layups going into halftime, I knew things were going sour. I just didn't expect it to turn out to be a rout. Maybe the long break since our last game affected some of the guys.

Oh well, every team has bad losses. It's the good ones that bounce back.

I agree. That is what i think RA though about. It is an 82 game season. Getting 1-1 on a back2back on the road is good. Now get that win in Memphis or I change teams!. joke!

something went wrong. I dont know how to explain it but when we were up 11 in the first quarter i knew we would lose. I dont know how. What i do know is the mavs are probably the most ive ever disliked a sport team.

Glad you mentioned this,he is the teflon don on the board. A few decent games on the offensive end can't mask his weaknesses against big teams.
    Defense isn't enough.

Hayes when he got in at the end of the 2nd Houston it was 61-50 when he got out at the middle of the 3th Houston was 69-71 a 21 to 8 run by Dallas.

Scola when he got in at the end of the 2nd Houston it was 61-50 when he got out at the middle of the 3th Houston was 72-79 a 39 to 11 run by Dallas.

They didn't play well at all and with Andersen and Landry they where making a run, but every time Houston got close whoever was defending Terry did a awful job getting back because he was getting easy and open shoot time after time until the gap was to wide to close.

First 30+ minutes everybody play well, the rest of the game the blame is on everybody that just stop moving and their shoot stop falling.

I want to see a lineup of:

    Brooks - Lowry - Budinger - Landry - Hayes

when opposing teams go small, or:

    Brooks/Lowry - Ariza - Budinger - Landry - Hayes

for a little extra size in the backcourt. Budinger has looked just fine on defense, and he's ahead of both Ariza and Battier on the offensive side. Landry gives the Rockets a good post up option and efficient finisher around the basket. Hayes is their best interior defender. Brooks gives them a potentially dynamic scorer and someone who can run a pick and roll. Lowry is a guy who'll push it in transition.

    Oh I definitely agree.

I was just saying, this is the first time I've really seen the Rockets look completely lost in a basketball game this season.

Battier needs to retire. He is too slow and unathletic to play anymore. His defense is over-rated and he has zero offense.

The offense has four players: CBud, Ariza, Brooks and Battier who do nothing but shoot 3's. One dimensional offense from 4 players will not win. At this point only Scola and Landry have a mid-range game and post skills (two places from where they can score!).

I think CBud can develop a good mid-range shot. Brooks and Battier seem hopelessly predictable, and Ariza looks like he could quicken his release on the shorter shots.

Other than that they need to find a FC to come in and spell Hayes, Scola and Landry at C. Andersen does not look strong enough to defend, and he should stick to his post game for now.

That's my angry rant, because the Mavericks exposed the Rockets for who they are.

Credit to the mavs but something fell apart tonight. Guys were walking up the floor and falling right into a half court game we cannot win. Continue to push the ball. It seemed like Kyle was the only player willing to run in the 2nd half. I do agree that we can only get better after a loss like this. We need to remember to continue to do what has got us those wins! Run...run...and rin like hell!!!

calm down the damn team stunk it up... no need to blame one player, it was just a complete lack of composure against a team that loves to beat us.

Not playing the starters in the fourth to save energy for a b2b is the difference from the top teams and the average, every game should be played to the end like its a play-off game. I've never seen a game where Kobe or Garnnet don't play in the fourth cuz of the next game. Poor coaching is also at fault.

That's true. In fact,he has been our best player against them. Those days are gone. I'm not implying that he doesn't have his faults, but he does deserve some credit.
