Dallas made adjustments. Rockets will have to get used to it. If its not traps, its forcing us to play half-court offense by getting back and defending the passing lanes.
We can't be hot for the whole game, but we shouldn't lose defence! from 17 pts lead to 20 pts deficit.
I didnt get to watch the 2nd half but I noticed we ended the first half on a ugly note. Up something like 56-42 and the halftime score is 61-57 I believe. Things got sloppy and I guess went downhill from there. Hey, good thing is we get to go out and prove ourselves again tomorrow against Memphis here at home. You learn from this and move on! Go get 'em tomorrow Houston!
What I want to know is why was Scola not playing in the 4th!? Our starters did well in the first half so why were they not playing in the 4 quarter!? Arrr!!! This loss blows! I freakin hate the mavs!
to defend ariza here, he only went 1-on-1 like five times tonight, with 3 of those times in the first quarter alone. what i can't defend ariza tonight was that he just stood still outside the 3pt line like he did in LA. we didn't bring him here to be shane battier. we brought him here to be an opportunistic scorer (move around and look for lanes to attack). this was a terrible game for ariza. hopefully he'll bounce back tomorrow. but yes, shane needs to start making his shots b/c teams will make him shoot more. we can't expect to run all game long. there will be stretches when team load up on brooks and we will be forced to play halfcourt and this is where you need a mcgrady. he might not be able to score buckets, but he'll get us good shots. we went for a long stretch taking ridiculously bad shots (not open). again, this is a young team still growing. adelman understands this. we'll experience growing pains as fans so we can't be too critical. unless this becomes a trend, then it's problematic. 2 bad games out of 7 -> i'll take that percentage anytime.
i wanted to punch jason terry after he started pumping up the crowd at the end of the 2nd quarter. oh and i wanted to big boot tony brothers in the face as well.
Battier 1-8, Budinger 1-7, Ariza 3 -10 need I type more? The only good part is that RA gave the bench some 4th quarter pressured playing time but it was apparent he already gave the game away by that time. Not sure why though. I don't get the hate for Andersen, he is going to get better! Relax, and I think he has more upside than pops, cant teach height.
Battier is falling off guys. He looked lost and tired for some reason. RA played him too long and should of kept C-Bud in there.
I cringe every time he attempts to do that. Its a bad habit he picked up from Kobe Bryant. Poor dribblers should never try to do that.
I keep asking this question man. It's just odd, even if he's 'experimenting' (Against Dallas for the division lead???) it's weird to see 4 of your starters not see any significant minutes closing the game out only down by 10.
