I have no idea why we would even consider this. Right now we don't need MORE players, we need to upgrade players. We already have a solid 8-9 man rotation, what does getting players equal to our 6-9th players do for us? It just wastes talent sitting on the bench. Any sort of trade we would do involving Tmac would go like this. Tmac + 1 rotation guy for an upgraded guy at that position.

I agree with you; bring in a young, TALL, athletic big who can run. Doesn't have to be a big time scorer.

Way worse than the Kevin Martin scenario.

The only player on the Cavs that I would want is Lebron. :p

The only problem with this is that McGrady's salary is so large you only have a small handful of players that will work.

If the Rockets hate the idea of McGrady coming back and slowing the team down, what are they thinking about Yao's return next year? He's not exactly the ideal anchor of an up-tempo offense. Are they finally moving on from 111?

Only way I'm agreeing to a trade with the Cavs is if we get Big Z, D. West and Mo Williams. for T-mac and filler

Isn't it a bit hypocritical to praise the Rockets' new high motion fast-paced offense without Yao slowing it down, then suggest the Rockets should trade for the only player in the league that Yao could beat in a foot race?

Every player in the Rockets is better than every player on the Cavs, outside Lebron. I don't want any pieces from that team at all.

they be dumb to trade mcgrady he is one of the best player in the nba he was just injured last season and the season before that if he is healthy i bet you he be good again people just gotta give him a chance, a healthy yao and mcgrady and with the squad they have now they will get a championship so daryl morey has to really think about that, mcgrady lead the team before he will do it again

So seeing as how Sam Smith wrote this article I can say with 95% certainty that this trade wont happen.

HELL NO. This trade would make Tracy McGrady happy. NO NO NO a thousand times NO! I would rather let his ass sit on the bench all season whining and b****ing like he usually does. This time it would be about playing. He deserves that more than he deserves a ring.

    REMEMBER THE OILERS!

First, we don't need to trade one guy for 3 more. Our roster is full, and we don't want to waste money by trading a expiring. Sam Smith fails.
2nd, we are not desperate to dump Tmac. I hope the rest of league gets this message.

Sam Smith needs to look closer to home for a McGrady trade. Noah (long athletic 4/5), Hinrich (defense minded swing guard) and Deng for McGrady, Dorsey and JTaylor.

    I don't want West.

    http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/11/delonte_west_sitting_out_wedne.html

West was placed on the inactive list on wednesday. He is afraid to fly with the team and has missed at least 2 flights. The season has barely started.

I included West as a possible scenario 'cause he only has 500k guaranteed next season.

In the end it'd work out to tmac's expiring for Z's expiring, West's 500k guaranteed, Gibson's 4mil and pick(s). I'm hoping for a better deal, but I only put that out there in response to Sweet Lou 4 2 saying he'd rather let tmac expire for cap space. Since we don't have enough cap space to sign a top FA if we let tmac expire, I'd rather have something to show for it than letting him walk.

I say we go after Jordan Hill and some of the Knicks younger players...
