It sounds like Tmac wants to be traded, he puts the pressure on the rockets side. He could ask a trade next time if the rockets do not meet his wish. That could be the theory.

If McGrady really wants to send a clear signal to the fans here, he needs to not tell Stephen A Smith or ESPN, he needs to go directly to Kenny and Charles on TNT.

Kobe cheated his wife. I think he is more trustworthy than TMac.

This is not gonna end well.

I could care less if and when he comes back. He's not going to be any good imo and if he is he'll be the same old ball hog McGrady trying to get his stats for a major contract next year.

And again we begin sucking and struggling. This is going to be a huge chemistry killer.

Many called Artest the cancer, well I believe it was and still Tracy.

    Loser.

I tend to believe that the organization is telling the truth, that McGrady is being kept out until the Rockets are absolutely sure he's completely healed and able to play at full strength, in order to avoid repeating what happened last year when he stepped in and out of the lineup.

And even if Morey actually has a McGrady trade in the works, wouldn't it still be in the interest of both the organization and McGrady for him to be at his best when he returns to the court, rather than have him rush back? Having him playing when he's not ready would not only hurt his trade value but also his future contract potential.

That said, I do wonder how open the communication line is between McGrady and the Rockets, and whether such simple issues as his return date are clearly and openly discussed.

I don't know why anyone is suprised that this happened. McGrady and the Rockets brass have shown time and time again they aren't on the same page. McGrady needs a muzzle and the Rockets should (and I suspect they will if a good opportunity presents itself) trade him.

McGrady maybe doesn't understand what he's being told. The Rockets maybe tell him there's a chance they could move up the MRI date and he could come back early. And in his brain, he takes that to mean that next week is a realistic return date.

    Will this affect attendance?

Will people not show up to games when they originally thought Tmac will make his return?

yeah, I think it's the reverse for Rocket fans (Toyota Center).
If the Lakers are in town and Kobe doesn't play or Cleveland comes and Lebron is sick, people wouldn't show if they had the choice.

    It's a star driven league.

Great egos do not equal cancer. Cancers are bad teammates, do drugs, not working out at all.
Artest worked out ok, but not with McGrady.

it's sad we're not filling up the seats right now at the TC. the team is as exciting as it has been in a decade and yet i see empty seats all over the place, including the laker games.

i would get season tickets this year if i lived in houston b/c probably easier to get since the city doesn't have high expectations for the team.

PS - my cousin who lives in dallas gets about 20-30 games a year to the rockets b/c her company (JP Morgan) provides it and yet she never goes. she just wastes the ticket (she's not really a basketball fan).

That's pretty bad if we can't fill the house for the Lakers.

    so according to justice,

the rockets are growing increasingly PESSIMISTIC about tracy's return? and he has looked bad in practice?

    now that's news.

people will come b/c there will be the bandwagon fans. the 22-game winning streak packed the place b/c we had more national TV games. if we go on a streak, it'll be packed.

Man. I know Justice is villified around here, but you have to wonder about this:

"So far, those that have seen him in practice seem to think he's a long way from being an impact player again. He may get there at some point, but he's a long, long way from there. No matter what he says."

the thing that caught my eye is:

Just when the Rockets were growing increasingly pessimistic about McGrady returning anytime soon

so who's lying here? morey just said they're optimistic and he's way ahead of schedule yesterday.

can we just hear the damn truth for once? i'm hearing entirely different things now all sources.
