You realize that any comments I make has to do with the thread. And it says gossip in its title. Why do I take everything serious in a thread where Morey did not hint at a possibility that this is going to go down!
Insulting other posters and subsequently talking about respect that is really something.

Very compelling arguments to both sides of this.

But to those speculating about a follow-up deal: I don't think there is any way I would trade Shane Battier (unless rebuilding).

    THIS. THIS. THIS.

Considering that the Rockets' options are limited next season (see BimaThug's thread) and that the offer doesn't include any of our good role players, this is a slam dunk in our favor.

Again, and as always, assuming this gossip has any legs - retrading Nocioni or Battier comes with its own set of issues: Scola. As I understand it Scola is best-buds with Shane; and good buds with Nocioni. Oh, and a FA ay season's end - and a necessary re-sign. BTW - Nocioni could b/u Scola at the 4 some.

I'd agree but the contract is the thing most people are being scared off by. A few million less and I'd be all in but comitting to Kmart for 4 years at about 12 million +- is scarey.

Didn't someone mention Kenny Thomas having a pretty large expiring contract? Thomas in place of Nocioni would work salary-wise and would not have the Rockets taking on too much salary beyond this season. But if the Kings' main goal is to shed salary, that trade would of course not look at good.

In any case, I think the key to the deal is to find a home for Nocioni, a player (and contract) that neither the Kings nor the Rockets particularly want.

I dun know bout that. Follow up trades are a sort of gamble. Has Morey ever had a track record of gambling?

I don't see how we can get a better deal for Tmac. We are not going to get any top tier talent for his expiring.

Of course this is true. But Morey said it again and again we are not fire selling.
He would be a liar if he had done otherwise.

After this season if we let Mcgrady just expire, we wouldnt even have much more than the MLE to bring in a guy. In this proposed deal, we get a All-Star caliber player in Kevin Martin. I cant see us getting anyone on that tier in free agency. Pull the trigger if this deal is even on the table.

I would consider moving Batter as this deal provides enough depth at the wing. I think Trevor Ariza and the recent progression of Chase Budinger, makes Battier more expendable that before. Add Nocioni to the list, and I think you have to consider it for sure IMO.

That's exactly why I said I don't go around calling everyone around her idiots. You sir are numero uno. :D

Talking about a guy that has never gotten a shot to be on a contender or to show what exactly he can do on a big stage and comparing him to a guy that has multiple chances and blew every single one... is pretty idiotic.

This guy is not very big and supposedly not very physical but he gets to the free throw line 10 times a night almost! Wow, he must be head faking a lot of folks to get that off straight jumpers.

You need to face the reality that Tracy has nothing in regards to value besides his contract right now. As I have been stating IF this rumor is true I'm sure Morey is taking a long hard look at this. IF.

I'm surprised many here are against this supposed trade. Even those who are leery about the contracts surprise me.

The one thing Morey gets criticized for around here is that he approaches player acquisition from a "value" standpoint, of which salary is a critical element. If Morey does this deal it's because he believes it would make us better in the future.

Yet I still don't think this rumor is true, and even if it is I bet it would be at least a couple months from now before it happens.

I haven't seen Hawes play much in the NBA. Against Yao, at least in one game, I remember Hawes looking like a freaking all-star. Ah, well, I'm still hoping for Bosh.

Wait. We get Nocioni and Martin for T-Mac and Taylor? No way. This is impossible. Kings would be r****ded to do this. THIS WOULD TURN US INTO A Championship Team next season!
