Since the Rockets usually go after Rocket killers, how about getting Michael Redd with our MCE. He hit like 9 3 pointers against us and he plays the position that we need, a backup SG. He can also play some minutes at 3 when we play small ball. What do yall think?

Is this the same Michael Redd that played for Boston College, then Ohio State? If so, he carried back programs back into prominence. Not a bad consideration. Yeah, I like the idea.

Redd's too expensive. Other teams will offer him much more money than us for him.

I think Redd would be an excellent backup to Mobley. He's a pure shooter who Rudy can insert whenever teams play a zone. He would be a great sixth or seventh man off the bench.

11ppg off the bench in 20mpg? 44% 3-pt shooting? Pretty nice. I wouldn't want to overpay for a backup shooting guard, but if Milwaukee can't keep him, I'd be very interested in seeing the Rockets pick him up.

I really don't think we need 12 star players each getting paid star money.

Redd only played for OSU. His teammate at OSU Scoonie Penn played for BC then OSU.
Redd is a nice player, a good second round pick up from Milwaukee but he ha a habit of being selfish. TO this point he's done everything right (rode the bench and kept his mouth shut his rookie year and did the job his second year) but I just think he will eventually become a problem due to his ego.
So although I am an OSU fan I would pass on him.

I doubt he wants to sign on to be a backup behind someone as entrenched as Mobely is as a starter. Won't he be looking for more minutes to go with his bucks (little "b")?

Redd is tough...he stepped up several times last season when Allen and/or Cassell were hurt.

Redd's the best name thats come up for the bckup SG yet. I was watching that came wehn he tourched us and kind started to follow him a little after that. I don't think he was drafted at all and just signed as a rookie FA. Unfortunately Rocket blast & giddyup are right. Redd might be too expensive for us and even if he isn't, he could probably find more playing time somewhere else.

Mobley is a workhorse at 40+ minutes per game. But in order to get a quality backup SG, Cat will have to reduce some of his play time. That should be a benefit that Cat gets to rest more over the long season. Or imagine a scenario that Cat gets injured, who's gonna step in? There are too many intangibles that require us to get a good backup SG. If every good player like Redd, we assume doesn't want to play behind Mobley, then who is there available that will?

Redd has talent and could be a star down the road. He is not going to like it in Houston playing behind Mobley. Its a better situation than the Bucks (behind Allen) but he should be able to find a team where he can start and showcase his talents.

Redd sounds pretty good but I would love for us to get Aaron Mckie. Just a workhorse and strong defender. His shot is lacking but don't we have enough scorers?

ESPN the Magazine reported in its current issue that the Bulls were planning on throwing big money at Redd. If this is true, it puts the Rockets out of the chase, but I wouldn't mind seeing him come off the bench for the Rockets next season, but only if it's at the right price.

Milwaukee trades: SG Michael Redd (11.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.4 apg in 21.1 minutes)
Milwaukee receives: PF Kenny Thomas (14.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 34.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.7 ppg, +3.9 rpg, and +0.5 apg.

Houston trades: PF Kenny Thomas (14.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 34.5 minutes)
Houston receives: SG Michael Redd (11.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.4 apg in 67 games)
Change in team outlook: -2.7 ppg, -3.9 rpg, and -0.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

get milwaukee to throw in a 1st or 2nd rounder and it's on and poppin'.

milwaukee really does need a power forward, since the anthony mason experiment went south.

No way we should trade KT for a backup shooting guard (whether or not he could start for another team is moot; he'd be the backup SG for the Rocks). KT deserves more love than that.
