Have to agree... it's not bad if you only eat it every once in a while, but it gets old real quick. My husband eats it every day of his life. If I go to lunch with him, I gain weight. He doesn't. When by myself, I usually get burritos from Chipotle. At least they aren't "fried grease balls" like the entire contents of the menu at certain other restaurants. Very unhealthy indulgence (but still good) - chicken tenders at Church's.
Long John Silivers--#10 Combo 1 piece of fish 1 piece of chicken, french fries, two hush puppies, and a Dr. Pepper or Coca Cola Classic. MMMMMM! Taco Bell--Usually a couple of Nacho Cheese beef or chicken chalupas & maybe one regular taco. Sometimes I will get three soft tacos instead of the chalupas. Always drink Mountain Dew Code Red here. Burger King--I don't eat here a whole lot considering I'm not a big burger person. Their original chicken sandwich is pretty good. The new "Veggie Burger" tastes like a big pile of steaming ish. I like the garden burgers you can fix at home, but DANG this thing is nasty. McDonald's--Fillet o Fish extra value meal with Coke, Dr Pepper, or Lemonade. Dairy Queen--Steak finger combo with Coke to drink. Sonic--the one place where I eat the really really bad stuff. Their chili cheese tater tots & french fries are to die for. Mmmmmm. Also the footlong cheese coneys are very good. The other day I had a craving for a burger (which isnt very often) and I tried one of their toaster sandwiches...talk about greasy but good. A huge beef patty, bacon, loads of cheese, cooked onions, and a huge breaded onion ring all between two huge pieces of texas toast. I could feel my arteries clogging as I ate it! Their drinks are also the best in the business. Ocean Water, Cherry Limeade, Strawberry lemon fresh fruit slush, the bannana shakes, everything is good here. As you can tell, I'm quite the fast food eater, but suprisingly i'm like 5'10 and only weigh about 150-155.
Speaking of fast food, I'm currently reading Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. Very good expose on the fast food industry and their practices, impact, history, etc. I'm hoping I'll be so disgusted and shocked by what I read, I'll never want to eat fast food again. I bought this book as a deterrent to my fast food craves. So far... I'm still craving fast food. The book hasn't outraged me... yet. Factoid from the book: McDonald's once considered building a theme park, a la Disneyworld, called Westernworld. One of the possibilities mentioned as a site for their theme park was Astroworld in Houston. Another factoid: Willard Scott, TV weatherman, was responsible for the character Ronald McDonald. One more for the road: 2/3 of all fast food robberies were committed by ex-employees.
lets see... i used to eat at burger king (and i do love burger king) but there isn't one very close to my house. so i dont eat there much. mcdonalds is ok. i eat there sometimes because its like a block away, but burger king is better. white castle is good. their burgers are pretty small but they are cheap. eat 10 white castle cheeseburgers...mmmm. if yall ever come to chicago you HAVE TO GO TO SUPERDAWG. that is THE greatest thing. its not a chain but one store. omg, how i desire those superdawgs and superbugers...mmm...however they are a lil expensive but thats ok. i used to eat at taco bell all the time, havent eaten there in awhile. kfc is pretty good. wendys is mighty tasty, but again, no wendys nearby. damn. pizza places i like dominoes, and local pizzerias i havent eaten at pizza hut since i was like 9. i used to get papa johns back when i lived in virginia but i cant seem to find a papa johns anywhere near my house.
Hey VesceySux... I read that book 2 years ago... VERY INSIGHTFUL! it isn't as much an expose on the disgustingness of the fast food industry, but rather a historical look at the birth and boom of fast food and its effect on American society (economically, culturally, and health-wise)... its filled with little stories about specific people and their fast food experiences (from within and outside looking in) very good book though!
Out of curiosity I looked for where this place is - it's only a couple of miles from my apartment. I'll be checking that out. White Castle > *
