I's a simple question. Some people believe he is a ball hog or he kills team chemistry. But the simple question is right here right now, should he start for the Memphis Grizzlies? Would it make that team win more games than its winning right now?
Both parties made mistakes. I don't know why Memphis wanted to sign Iverson if they weren't going to play him. If it was for ticket sales, they aren't playing him enough in the spotlight to make that work. Iverson seemed like the ONLY person on the planet who didn't know he was going to be the 6th man when he signed on.
Gay, Mayo, Gasol and even Randolph are all proficient scorers and likely in the Grizzlies' long term plans. Not so much with Randolph but he stands a strong chance to last longer in Memphis than AI. When you have that many scorers on the floor you need a facilitator and that's exactly what Conley is. I don't see how this works with AI working with the first unit expecting his usual 20 shots.
AI has left the team and gone home to Atlanta "to deal with a personal matter". My guess is he won't come back. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4633226
BTW I forgot to comment, I can't believe some people on this website spend their time arguing why AI needed to come to Houston. I sure as hell never wanted this fool in our team.
Iverson still wants to start How could AI reasonably expect that adding Thabeet, Zach and himself to the roster would move the Grizzlies from 24 wins to 45 wins or better?
Maybe if he would focus in PRACTICE he could take Conley's spot in the lineup. I mean seriously... the kid isn't all that.
