By beat the Lakers I mean was the main guy who helped us win some of the games in the games against them. That wasnt Artest scoring in the playoffs who got us past the Blazers. It was Brooks.

    Well that's fair enough.

But Westbrook has yet to play in a playoff game, so we don't know how he'd respond. For all we know, Westbrook might average 20 and 10 in a series like that and lead his team onto the next round.

I don't think the Thunder are going to be bad this year though, they have a losing record now though but I think they are going to handle teams like Minny, GSW, etc etc. So far they have shown that much. They also took the Lakers to OT.

Agree. Westbrook is a good player who can become great. He is way better on defense than Brooks and those Thunder guys are really starting to look dangerous with Durant and Westbrook leading the way.

    NBA.com had chase +/- at +16.
To answer your question, they can take bad shots all they want and still lose the game. It doesn't matter how good they shoot the ball, those were bad shots, one game they fall 3 other games they don't . You shud also be aware that this is probably the only good shooting night for durant in recent 3 games. I'm kinda confused that you mentioned turnovers, it's pretty obvious that if all you do is taking jumpers, your wudnt be getting many TO at all.
Honestly, I don't care who take the shot, as long as they are good shot selections.

You read my post, I've said a couple times durant is def a better player. All I'm trying to point out is the way most team evaluate players talent is one sided and often... Maybe more that often to misjudge a player.

    There is no comparison.

Wafer was the most overrated player on Rockets last year. He doesn't do anything else except trying to score.

Chase is better than Wafer will ever be just by his basketball IQ alone, not to mention other aspects of the game.

I know we're only six games in, but Chase is in the perfect system for his talents. I could see him being a Rashard Lewis type player. He's already a better passer than Lewis. He just has to keep improving his rebounding.

It's funny how the flaws in players like Wafer and Artest are magnified on a team like this. Those two guys were fan favorites, too.

It's only been 6 games so you have to wonder just how good this kid can be. He looks absolutely nothing like any rookie I've ever seen on this team. Not that he's the most talented, but he's just so calm and intelligent in his play. looks like a "seasoned veteran". There's no indication that he's playing above himself and when the defenses start planning for him, I'm convinced he has the IQ and skill set to adjust. He shoots, puts the ball on the floor, finishes, and plays D. Amazing pick.

The differance between C-Bud's IQ and Von Wafer's IQ is simply unmeasurable ..

The guy is really really smart and has a great attitude .. right now hand down he's best rookie preforming with brandon Jennings ..

well to be fair, he is more white than most everyone, including white guys.

I think he should be called the Albino Assassin

He could not break the rotation. Unless we could dump Cook for him (who will be used for a trade later so screw that) I don't see a spot on the 15 man for him.

Why is that worse than doing nothing but defense?

I compared Chase Budinger to former all star Thunder Dan Majerle since they have similar physical size.

What i still can't seem to understand is...

How the hell is he so damn athletic? And believe me, that reverse he had from that angle and those nice dunks were all i needed. I haven't seen a white wing that can do that, actually there might be if there is some one refresh my memory.

A friend of mine that was a hardcore mav fan was singing praises of him, just watching him play he was astonished and couldn't believe how poised he was.

I agree...Von was a bonehead with a low ceiling that contributed to a team his 4th yr in.

Chase buddinger has already started to contribute and is really feeling the game. Not forcing the issue as Von would.

    er no.
von $797,581 last year and chase making 750k right now.
but. we spent like 6m getting the 3 draft picks so i assume we spent like 1 or 2m on getting budinger and also a future 2 round pick to detroit.

It would have cost more than $800k to resign Wafer. He wanted millions, but Morey wouldn't budge. He left for a $5mil/yr contract. That's a more than 500% raise! Good for Wafer. He's definitely more expensive to resign than signing Chase.

If He can defend as good as thunder Dan then the Rockets are in for a great ride. The playoffs would be automatic.
