Brooksball, I like how you describe Budinger. Chase "Revelation" Budinger would be a cool nickname for him.

Easier said than done. No cap room for major FA's and Tracy McGrady's expiring contract isn't likely to yield what we need either.

Good solid win against a very young and athletic team. The Thunder are a team on the rise. This was a quality win tonight. I really had no expectations for this season, but this is turning out to be just absolutely incredible.

I know it is early, but I just love the team. Their heart, hustle, and commitment to fundamentals. They play unselfish basketball. Everytime they win, the entire team contributes. Damn, I cant wait for the next game. Tuesday is a long way away.

On final note- Congrats Rick Adelman. A fantastic milestone for a fantastic coach.

Some stats really stood out to me tonight.

    1)Kyle Lowry had a +/- of 14
2)Ariza went 21-5-6 after battling flu like symptons
    3)Ariza had a +/- of 13
    4)Lowry's 4 blocks.

Ariza has really been putting up some decent numbers this early part of the season. I know he had a horrendous shooting night against the Lakers, but those types of games happen. As whole, this team is only going to improve with their offensive efficiency and then they will really be able to light it up.

We have to pay respect to our players and coach, every one of them.

Now, the only problem of this rockets team: everyone is playing so well and way beyond my expectation that I don't know what improvement I could expect from them anymore.

Tell that to the Spurs, Heat, Cavaliers or Magic.

Unless, you are one of the NBA favorite franchises like the Lakers or Celtics, other teams have go to go through the draft, else you end up with 2nd rate all-stars that are always injured.

Basically, get lucky. Well GM's can't control how the lottery balls will bounce or pick out the sleepers, but they sure can acquire people who have already played in the NBA.

Morey's track record of picking sleepers in the draft is better than his success with signing/trading for superstars.

I'll take my chances with Morey and a top 5 pick.

well I'd also want to see what amazing thing Morey can come up with with a top lottery draft pick.......but the last time Morey had a top10 pick, (in 2006)...look at what ended up there...

Don't want to dwell over spilt milk all the time, but it was HUGE mistake...one which the franchise is suffering from right now and will still be suffering from the next years

Yeah, he traded it away for Shane Battier.

No need to win the 1st pick to get a star player. There are more star players drafted in the top half of the lottery below the 1st pick(picks 2-7).

If the Rockets had lost the game to Minnesota, they would have Brandon Roy(Morey's target) at 6. Morey can forget about trading T-Mac or any other players for Roy.

Rockets will likely have another chance, again, this year or next to draft in the lottery.

Sooner or later, one or both go down like and won't come back. I hope they spend more time "developing" young players, by sitting the starters, in that case. If they are fighting with another celler dweller in March and YaoMac is injured, might as well develop the young guys and move up 2-3 draft positions.

He wasn't the GM back then; CD still was. Morey was just hired as Assistant GM. That trade made also lot of sense, since we were trying to get the last piece of a championship team. Battier fit that need a lot better than Gay would have. Plus the number 1 guy we wanted in that draft at #8 was Roy; and we would have had him if it wasn't for Portland screwing our deal with Minnesota.

Yes. The result of that top10 lottery pick was Shane Battier

Regardless, in which ever way you look at it.......thats a FAILURE.

It doesn't matter who he targeted or not.....that lottery pick turned out really bad.

I know everyone can refer to CD still being GM back then...but the Battier choice was all and totally Daryl Morey. It doesn't matter whether he was the assistant GM or the high-school gym amateur scout, the reason we got Battier instead of anyone else was because of Daryl Morey. I think everyone can agree with that. I think even Morey admitted this himself. Why do you think theres been soo much manlove between Morey and Battier? ;)

You may say that Battier fitted that need better than Rudy Gay would have......but wheres the evidence?? Without results to back it up that is purely just an opinion. IN fact, I would say, that Rudy Gay fitted this team 100 times better than Battier fitted this team! I don't even have to argue my point all that much to prove it......Rudy Gay would've been the 3rd offensive option......Battier failed to have any kind of impact in the playoffs where it mattered (not saying he had much impact in the regular season either.....)...and I can go on and on...but thats not the point.

I'm just extremely fu#$@$@ disappointed and pissed off that Morey chose to burn a top10 lottery pick on Shane Battier. (i.e. RUdy Gay) and no I'm not gonna hide my emotions on this...

I think I feel the same sentiments as many of the posters here on CF.....Battier is a great player.....but we gave up WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too much for him....its like saying yeah great we got Kwame Brown!..at what cost????? Pau Gasol!!!

    /rant over enjoy

    yeah. back to post-game talk.

here's another thing the Rockets did last night which surpassed their best offense of last year:

they scored 100 or more points for the fifth consecutive game...

( last year they won four consecutive, twice)

26 assists.... offense clicking on all cylinders
