I so dislike bible thumpers, majority are hipocrites. They will sling that bible just about as fast as they sling the PP at the local p*rn shop. LOL
I don't think that Toronto would trade Peterson, but how about Cato for Hakeem and Mamadou N'Diaye. It actually works out sallary wise and It gives Toronto a decent starting center and us Hakeem and a young backup center when he leaves, plus it frees up a little cap room to resign our own guys easier and still have options.
A real possibility is Willis straight up (sign & send) for Hakeem ---- forget about trading Cato its not going to happen.
I think that statement as well is uncalled for. Racial, religious, and class discriminating comments have no place in this forum. Painting with a broad brush can sometimes get a little messy. Try to be a little more careful and use a smaller brush next time. It is certainly well within your rights to have an opinion but regardless of your experiences with other Christians ( although there are good christians and bad christians ) , you should never lump everyone in to the same group. My point is simple. Non religious people do not have to follow religious rules. The spelling "mistake" in "god" should never have been pointed out in the first place. It was completely off-topic. This thread is about Hakeem possibly returning to the Rockets. Some people really need to lighten up. ---------------------- Back on topic: It's funny how Kelvin Cato is bashed to no end on this board, but when the possibility of trading him for the franchise's greatest player comes up, suddenly he becomes a valuable and talented piece of the puzzle. I would trade all of Kelvin's potential for the veteran leadership and presence of Hakeem in a second. He would be a great backup for Yao. I can dream, can't I? Yes ZRB you can dream. It's good you know you're dreaming. In my private life I bash Cato with the best of them. But on this board I have to back him just to bring people back to reality. I agree Hakeem is the all-time, no-doubt best Rocket ever. But he's less valuable to the team (intangibles aside: he is not going to come here to mentor Yao) than Cato right now. It's an interesting idea, but it's not going to happen. First, it's not going to happen because management wouldn't even consider it. But more importantly, even if they did, Hakeem wouldn't consider it. He'd sooner retire than come back here with his tail between his legs to play backup. In my private life (again), I run a theater company. So I've got some experience with Greek tragedy. In Greek tragedy, the hero always has a tragic flaw. Usually it's hubris, also known as excessive pride. Hakeem's got it. It's why he didn't retire last year, it's why he went to Toronto and it's why he would never, ever, ever, never think about coming back. Which is a shame, as I love him dearly and always will. On the other thing, correcting spelling is annoying (and that's coming from a pretty fair speller). Correcting spelling on account of religious beliefs is downright offensive. Sorry, Sane. Batman Jones Trust me, I know it's just a dream. There really is no scenario I can think of that would bring Hakeem back to Houston. I'd love for it to happen, but I know it won't.
Veteran leadership? Tutor for Ming? Some people here are romanticizing Hakeem. Hakeem was never a person with great leadership. He led by example at times, but once he couldnt' do that, his leadership value became non-existent. He's not vocal in the clubhouse. And Hakeem is also known for not helping out youngsters too much. Heck, a couple of them have actually complained about how little Hakeem worked with him. Hakeem was close to worthless in Toronto last year, for all about perhaps 10 games. That was in the Eastern conference. And he'll be a year older. Cato was serviceable at times in the West. In a basketball sense, there is no way that such a deal would be beneficial. In a financial sense, both are overpayed. If you want Hakeem back, you do so for sentimental reasons. And a part of me would like him to retire as a Rocket, too. But let's at least be honest about it.
I like the one trade someone said about trading cato, moochie, for hakeem and a re-signed clark. That would be nice. At the same time yes dream has about one year left and i don't want to rick getting him in exchange for young guys. ......But he could help out Ming A LOT!!! Man i don't know.
How about Mo Taylor for Hakeem and Chris Jefferies. Toronto gets the player they wanted a few seasons ago. Taylor and Jerome Williams make a good combo at the power forward position, while Antonio Davis moves back to the 5. Rockets unload Taylor's contract for Hakeem's contract which only has 2 years left. Plus they get a defensive specialist in Jefferies to play backup 2.
You could have made a point without acting like a total jerk about it. You have to admit that was out of line and very immature. But I guess you haven't changed much. By the way, it's not even about whether or not you are religious.. It's respecting other people's beliefs and not trashing what they believe in. Why use God's name in vain if you know it's going to offend them?
