What the HELL is happening yesterday Fort Hood today this crap...SAD :(

ORLANDO, Fla. - One person was killed and at least seven were wounded in a shooting inside a downtown Orlando high-rise building Friday morning, authorities said. The building was described as not yet secure, and the suspect was still on the loose.

Quoting emergency dispatchers, NBC station WESH-TV of Orlando reported that the shooting began about 11 a.m. ET on the fourth floor of the Gateway Center at 1000 Legion Place near Lake Ivanhoe.

All patients were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Some of the patients were reported to be in “extremely critical” condition.

Orlando police Sgt. Barbara Jones told reporters that there was believed to have been only one shooter.

“Things are still unfolding,” Jones said. “... We’re still trying to secure various structures around the area to make sure the shooter is not still in the area.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department described the suspect as a male wearing a light-blue polo shirt and blue jeans. It said he was believed to still be armed.

Michael Droege, district chief for the Orlando Fire Department, told WESH that an unknown number of people were still in the building and could be injured. He said the SWAT team was still trying to pull people out of the building.

SWAT officers were going floor by floor to secure the building, they said.

Gateway Center is a 16-story office building that was built in 1999.

Interstate 4 eastbound was shut down while police converge on the area, and nearby Edgewater High School was locked down.

This is a breaking news story. Check back frequently for further developments.

Gun control or not, if a person wants a gun for murder, they're going to be able to find one. If you've got the money, you'll get your weapon of choice.

Damn, I hate it when this type of crap becomes a trend. I almost wish there wasn't so much media coverage on these incidents.

    Gives the crazy's ideas.

I'm desensitize to this sort of crap already. And, that is a bad sign.. How many disgruntled employee going on a rampage do we have to have on a daily basis? Forget gun control, do something in the work place where an employee won't go nutz. Why don't we just have robots doing our job and we at home control it on our computers, case solved..

I can has pirated dvds?

Guns are nothing more than tools. Those with black hearts will use whatever tools are at their disposal. Youth street crime in the UK is committed with knives. Genocide in tribal Africa is commited by machete. I could keep going, but I hope you get my point.

It's much harder to kill people with knives and machetes than with guns though.

^ Yes, but true gun control would be impossible in a country founded by guns. It would just create a black market like prohibition or the war on drugs.

Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing are all amazing. You wouldn't want to travel there because of the supposed tight gun control Vinsanity says there is?

Shanghai is amazing and probably the safest city I have ever been to and there are NO GUNS. Amazing isn't it? My point is, to Mr Longhorn is that if you have true & strict gun laws, then you can't just go out a get a gun like he claims.

Apples to oranges. You can't compare China to the US when it comes to guns.
