Another tall, blonde-haired white guy. Sound familiar?

    Bird

    :) ;)

You guys comparing Budinger to Bird are nuts. I'd compare him to a different white guy - Brent Barry. And I'd be thrilled if the 44th pick turns into a player that has a Brent Barry like career.

I agree that the comparisons to Bird are off. I think he is much more similar to Chris Mullin. Both are 6'7'' white guys who can shoot the rock. He just needs to get a buzz cut.

I agree that the Bird comparison is nuts!

He is more like Pistol Pete Maravich, Bob Cousy, Rick Barry, John Havlicek and Jerry West rolled into one.

I compare him to Glen Rice.

All you people comparing him to white players are racist.

I'd compare Budinger to a bacon sandwich. All you people comparing him to other players are humanists.

I never felt Joe Alexander was worth a lottery pick. His jumper and his lateral quickness/defense looked highly suspect to me. All he could do was dunk.

Were lucky to have chase, and he's lucky to have us ..
he came to a perfect sitution a team that puts trust not pressure on its young players and gives the time to develop and shine although he didnt much to prove himself ..
Sky is the limit for chase's potentiol right now .. I really really think we stole something ..

Um, no. I wouldn't throw the "bacon" tag on him just yet. He isn't quite that good right now. I'll go with french fries- pretty good, but you don't know how it will sit with you long term, and you don't know if you can add much more to it. He was a 4 year college player after all, typically guys with higher ceilings come out earlier.

Morey is digging up all gold right now... a 2nd round pick no one even thought of is one of the top rookies of the year. Maybe Morey sold his soul to the devil because its just crazy how he can pick that!

I see lots of dummies here say that Chase would have been a lottery pick if he was black. I say, See Joe Alexander.

They look alike. But Joe Alexander seems more athletic to me.

Nevertheless I'm happy because of Chase, that's a helluva achievement what he did and already he's considered as one of the best rookies out there.

I wonder what Jermaine Taylor feels like these days, higher pick but stuck at end of bench.

I don't think Taylor not getting time is a big deal. I mean, Landry quickly got into the mix his rookie year while Brooks even had a d-league demotion. Now it's arguable that Brooks has become the better player.

That said, I do think if Taylor continues to ride the bench until the end of the season, it could mean trouble.
