    lol!

i had my doubts about the guy for that very reason. i had NO IDEA he was such a great athlete. his two interceptions were eye-opening.

not that it matters..but 6'3 is generous. He walked by me at reliant and i was taller than he was. He was stout though. I've never seen someone's neck be wider than their head

I was all over Cushing during the draft. NFL Network had a series about him prepping for the draft and his work ethic was something I wanted on this team. He is truly a student of the game as well.

Wow, I clicked the link thinking "pro-bowl" in my head...all-pro is another beast. Very impressive that Cushing has been as successful as he has been.

With a couple of years experience & media exposure, the Texans will have a linebacker core that will rival the Steel Curtain of the Steelers. They are that good!

:) let's just finish the season with a winning record before we start comparing the team to one of the greatest defenses of all time.

Just a thought, I know they have Cush as a nickname for Brian but what about something different, the way Casey has Thor.

    I heard Brian Crushing.... maybe....

I didn't think this deserved its own thread but if nothing else Cush will do! :D

I just call him Chuck cuz I think he's Chuck Norris' NFL equivalent.

They have to re-sign Demeco long term. The combination of Ryans and Cushing is probably already one of the best in the NFL. The potential damage the 2 of them together can cause is frightening...for other teams.

    I love Cushing...

but Dallas Clark made him his female dog over and over again last week.

I think Cushing is a lock for ROY right now.

To be fair, there aren't many linebackers in the league that can stay with Dallas Clark, especially on those quick under routes. At least he wasn't torching us deep. I'm not sure exactly how many times Cushing was assigned to him either- it's tough to pay attention to that the first time watching.

cushing is a strong side backer, if he can cover tight ends like clark he'd be damn near the best defensive rookie eva.

moes and i went over this in another thread - clark caught a lot of passes, yes - but averaged 4 fewer yards per catch sunday (8.5 to 12.7 in his first 6 games) and didn't score a TD.

the texans' were obviously geared to shut down the deeper passing lanes; that opened clark up a bunch underneath but they did a remarkably good job containing him once he caught the pass. you're never going to completely shut manning down - he's going to find SOMEONE open. but i would bet a lot of money the texans will take 8.5 ypc and 0 TDs from clark and 8 ypc and 0 TDs from wayne each and every time.
