While watching the game last night I noticed Bill and Clyde were regulated to sitting in the second row behind the scorer's table. Does anyone know the reason why?

I didn't notice it during the home opener, but was it like that against the Blazers?

    TIA

I noticed this too. I think they were in the 2nd row during the home opener as well. It's strange to have your announce team not be on the first row with the timekeeper and everyone else.

    Another good Clydism from tonight:

"That was a good spot he found; it just wasn't open."

Not a Drexlerism, but I thought it was funny when Hakeem was on with them and Clyde was waving his hands around and talking to someone in the crowd.

Bill: Who are you talking to?
    Clyde: Les Alexander
Bill: You realize we're on television right now.
Clyde: Heheheh. They don't wanna see us, they wanna see the Dream.

Another Clydism was when he said Hakeem was a "nice young man" and then quickly realized what he had just said and quickly muttered a different praise for Dream.

I think they added more courtside seats, forcing the announcers to the second row.

You know, now that you mentioned it I thought there were more seats between the players and the scorer's table. The table looked a little bit shorter, too.

I didn't put much thought into it since it's been close to six months since I saw a home Rockets game. I figured it must have been like that before.

    Thanks for the explanation.

They were probably in the second row since it was a Lakers game which incurs a larger media following.

As for Clyde... he is the definition of a "color" guy for the broadcasts. It's hilarious. I like Bullard, but Clyde is just better because he can be unpredictable.

No, they actually sat there the game before that. Must be something new that the Rockets have setup.

Has anyone heard Clyde say "shooting the lights out of the ball" this season?

I have head it at least twice and meant to post it in the Drexlerisms thread.

He said that exact expression in another game this season...I think it was our first game against the Blazers. Anywho, he left it standing alone that time, but this go around he qualified it with a line about him camping out right after. I guess someone gave him a hard time about it last time, eh. Haha.
