when interviewed,Ariza said Artest had guarded him by pinching his neck, and ended with respective T due to their push over.Did anyone saw this ?I didn't notice this happening on TV.
Would this surprise anyone? Artest is the same guy that pants Paul Pierce thinking thats good defense.
OK,I found it ,after Scola hit 2+1 in fisrt quarter remaining 9:11,Ron seemed to go trash-talk Ariza, and stopped by Kobe.
Ariza need to get used about the way Artest defense him. That is part of process make him grow up. I knew it's kind of hard for him to be the man of one team. However, someone would die to have that type chance. Come on, Ariza, be strong, learn it, earn your reputation. By the time yao come back, there will be whole different strong if you' mature enough and skill enough. Your game will be much easier.
great offensive players rarely complain about the individual defender who guards them. they will only compliment them. ariza is not an elite scorer. it was expected for artest to shut him down and he did. i wasn't surprised. ariza tried to do too much tonight.
If it gets the job done, so be it. Its odd that knuckle heads like him is some of the best defenders in the game. Dennis Rodman is another one.
He's going to have to get used to it and score anyway. Without T-Mac, the best defender will focus on Trevor Ariza since Battier is an offensive liability.
there's a pretty large Korean population in LA, isn't it? I think there's a big Koreatown and Koreans might be > Chinese in LA.
It appeared to start at 9:25 in the first quarter, just before the crowd/announcers noticed. What they saw was the tail end of the confrontation. For those who did not record the game, Ariza is basically dribbling the ball up the court and Artest runs to guard him at the 3 point line. Ariza picks up his dribble, and in a three-point stance, passes off to the corner (he may have used his elbow to free space...can't tell). As soon as Ariza passes, Artest pushes him away and points at him. Ariza walks forward and knocks Ron's hand away. Ron puts the finger back in Trevor's face, and Trevor knocks his hand away again as he make a hard cut to go get the ball. He gets the ball, drives baseline and is blocked. Scola gets the putback, and that's when Artest approaches Ariza again and they get the double techs.
