Brooks somehow learned to pass the ball this off season, quite incredible.

Lemme see 10+ more games with 5+ assists. I don't expect him to jump from 2.6 career assist to like 8-9.

Brooks now is the most important cog in the Rocket machine. He is the spark to our engine.

I was one of them. But I wanted him as Lowry's replacement.

I have to say Sessions could carry Brooks' shoe right now. :D

Man, you gotta admit that AB did a terrific job in the past 3 games. We Chinese Rox fans are really impressed!! We'd never thought he'd play so well even though he did score 30+ last year against the fakers! My friends and I all believed he'd turn into an undersized average PG at best, but he proved us so badly wrong! The playoff experience of last year is indeed a tremendous boost for him! Keep it on AB!! Let's see what you can accomplish!! BTW, I'm mostly pleased that our guys *****ed the Utah b****es inside out on their field!!! Go ROX!

the third year is the most crucial year for most players who do take that leap and take their game to another level. it appears AB is doing that. :D

An attempt to name ten currently better PGs:
    1)CP3
    2)D. Williams
    3)S. Nash
    4)T. Parker
    5)C. Billups
    6)D. harris
    7)D. Rose
8)J. Kidd (yes, I still put Kidd ahead of Brooks, but just barely)
9)R. Rondo (somewhat debateable, but at this point I give Rondo the edge)
10)B. Davis (not that I would rather have him, but at this point I think Davis is still better-unless Brooks shows me that his recent play is sticking around)

Now, that's 10 but just barely, and I had to count Davis who is sort of washed up and on the tail end of his career. He's hard to compare with a player like Brooks who is on the upswing of his career and about to his his prime, but right now, unless Brooks's current level of play is for real and not just a glimpse at what could be later, I count Davis ahead of Brooks.

One could also find due cause to include J. Nelson at 11 and above Brooks, and at this point I'd be hard pressed to choose one, ranking wise, over the other, but regardless of that I think Brooks will become a better player than Nelson hands down and probably pretty soon. By as soon as mid-season, assuming Brooks keeps it up, he'd deserve to leapfrog Nelson and Davis and earn a spot among the top 10 PGs, but he's got a little further to go to get any higher on my list.

Rondo is another hot young talent, and he's got a ring to boot, but the only player I see more likely to be overtaken in the rankings by Brooks is Jason Kidd. He's got a long way to go if he's gonna outshine guys like D. Harris and C. Billups, but the beauty of it is is that Brooks is capable of becoming as good or maybe even better than those two guys.

And even if not, he's still gonna be pretty darn good... if I have a hard time naming 10 better PGs off the top of my head now, I imagine it'll be even harder when he's really hitting his peak in a year or two!

devin harris is not better than brooks, period. I don't think derrick rose is either, he had a fantastic series vs boston -- but I need to see another year of it. rondo is close.

brooks seems as if he's beginning to develop some consistency which was always his biggest issue. with that said if you bring defense into the discussion that changes things. the original poster discussing ranking was only talking about offensively.

btw, jason kidd is NOT better than brooks.

I would take Brooks over half of the people from that list, taking age into consideration. No question about it. Kidd and Nash are closer to getting social security. :)

Comon man I love me some AB. But this kinda talk about him bein better then season vets is rubbish.
IF he can, and I really hope and I think he is capable of keeping this type of form up. Then yes he is going to open some eyes up this year.
He is my pick for MIP this season and if he stays on this mission that hes on, then no doubt he is a huge chance at winning MIP.
But to say after 4 games that he is better then Rondo, Devin and Kidd is absurd and damn right ignorant and complete homer talk.

I have personally never doubted AB's abilities. Maybe I have in the sense that i felt he can't be the number 1 option, but the last 3 games have really proved me wrong. I am not jumping on his bandwagon nor am i a hater.

Personally i feel that our team is not suited for AB. Even with this running style that we are persuing this year. I think he would benefit more if he were on a team that is structured more like the raptors. A team of pure shooters, from big men right through to guards, spacing the floor for him to drive, finnish or kick out. I think that our team right now is not consistant enough from the outside. We have been shooting EXTREMELY well recently and I just don't feel it will continue for very long. Our streaky outside shooting have always been a problem.

I think the years of centering around Yao is over for 2 reasons, firstly he is too injury prone, I am not saying he is not gonna last a whole season, but the fact that our team have to keep monitoring his minutes and are afraid to play him for too long in close games (i know all players have their minutes monitored, it is that he is in particularly vulnarable). Secondly i feel that he is too easily locked down with fronting and double teaming as you have said. It makes him too turnover prone. Off course both of which is not his fault...it is because of his size. Guess you gain some you loose some. Both of these matters are not gonna benefited by the fact that he is coming off major surgery and is getting older. I think he would really benefit from playing the role of Big Z on the cavs. Pick and pop, also can go to him down low if the offense is struggling. Not as the first option. This would benefit both the rox and him as a player. I really feel that this season is gonna be a make or break for the rox for the next couple of years. The direction this organisation takes after this season is gonna set the tone of the coming seasons. I don't think yao is gonna be traded for marketing reasons only. Although I still consider him as a top 3 center in the league. I just feel he sould be taking the back seat now to a superstar. Just my 2 cents.

Also TrueBeaner...I am not disagreeing with your statements that brooks have been playing incredible and deserve all the praise. But I just don't like it personally when people bring race into discussions. Hey just me...

My friend, at least we are on the same page on the fact the AB is great...

What!? One star thread rating? Could this be because of the Chinese guy who got offended?

Will someone please post that picture of T-Mac walking with his kid and AB's head photoshopped onto the child?

That made me laugh, and I have no idea how to find it.

Count me in. I'm from china and I am indeed a bit pissed of after reading what his post. I mean come on guys, use a babelfish or something then go to hoopchina, take a look youself, there are just as many insightful posts as there are in here. Rockets game thread could easily go over 200 pages, after every game there will be detailed recap, Game highlights are uploaded immediately after that play, and most importantly, people are well awared of Yao's limitations and weakness. Many of us support rockets just as much as you do, with or without Yao.

Noone said you dont, but some of you're compatriots tend to use the race card to much.
