It claims that the phrase "real McCoy" had to do with one of the inventions listed. It doesn't.

Failing to properly attribute the content of your posts has the same ethical implication as outright plagiarism. Maybe you're right and using quote tags absolves you of being guilty of nominal plagiarism, but you're still obligated to cite your sources. Was there a reason you failed to do so? It doesn't seem like an oversight, as you promptly ignored a request in a subsequent post to provide a link.
