He's better because the team finally is based around Yao, the number 1 pest Tracy is no longer here, his ankle is healed and the team is developing chemistry and trust. He's made 125 threes, good for 15th in the league and his percentage is 43% which is 13th best. Cannot wait until the playoffs come, because Ron is definetly the X factor. Hope he keeps his head on straight and doesn't throw elbows like in 06 against the Spurs; he should do it, just not too obvious. Only do it to the players who deserve it like Ainge deserved to be punished in 94. Funny how Elie was hit with the ball and Maxwell went after Ainge in game 6 and 7 to get him back He got 3 technicals and 1 ejection for it, good times...good times. Maxwell set things straight when the league and refs didn't, that's what Artest's role is this year. On a side note: crazy how times have changed, it used to be a lot if you made around 140-150 in a year. Maxwell set the record in 90-91 for 170+. Now Allen and Lewis have over 180 already
I doubt Morey would give Artest a 5-year deal. If the Rockets make a good run in the playoffs this year, Artest will get re-signed and he will play just as well if not better for the Rockets I'm thinking next season and perhaps the season after that. I really think he wants to win as does Yao and being around teammates who have good work ethic and heart can go a long way.
Well Morey is going to have to work hard because when the Lakers are going to go after him with a much better crew and one of his good friends Kobe I don't see why he would want to stay here.. Does anyone know if he has a house here? Or just renting?
This is true and not just for sports. If you have friends that value school and education, then it will only come naturally that you will do the same. If you have co workers that work hard, you'd feel obligated to do the same. However, if your overpaid supervisor was always throwing frys and mcchickens around, well, no one would get anywhere. I still think we need 1 more piece, a scoring guard that can average 20ppg, but this team can get to 2nd round. But, like most other teams, a little bit of luck is required. I still can't imagine what this would do to Tracy should the Rockets make it to the 2nd round without him. It would just be so uncomfortable...I bet?
I don't think contract year has much to do with it, he's just helluva competitor. I just don't like when he goes to jacking up mode. I hope he doesn't have many of these nights..
I'm quoting my own post here to illustrate what I was talking about now that we've all seen the Lakers game. I'm not going to kill Artest for having one bad game, but like I said, fool's gold. It's great when he makes them, but when he misses, he just doesn't know when to stop. Shooting is just like hitting in baseball, it comes and goes. If Artest can't shoot straight, can he do other things to help out the team on the offensive end? This is why we're going to miss McGrady when it matters the most. I'm sure he's gone 4-16 from the field before, but 0-8 from three? Even worse is Artest's 2 assists and 6 turnovers. Even in T-Mac's worst shooting games, you can count on him to take care of the ball, make great passes that directly lead to scores, and feed the ball to Yao. No one on the team does a better job at getting the ball to Yao more than Tracy. That's what we'll really miss.
Are we bumping every single Artest thread? STHU about Artest already. This is reaching McGrady levels.
Just because you are blind.... Artest w/Rockets - out of the first round and almost beat the World Champion Lakers. T-Mac and every other current Rocket before Artest - Three years. Oh fer first round. Those are the only numbers I care about.
