Any disappointing performance by the Lakers, or Mavs is good for the Rockets. Mavs and Lakers = a steaming pile of dung. Their fans are worse.
If Ron Ron doesn't find his shooting stroke during the season, he might implode the Lakers. I guarantee you he won't be satisfied focusing just on defense the entire season. Artest cannot be happy unless he's making major contributions on offense. He has too high an opinion of himself to function totally as a role player.
Well, at least I don't have to hear about the Lakers going 20 and 0 all the damn time. Now people will be saying 20 and 1. Also, if this is the same Dallas team that barely beat us then what does that say about us? (truth be told, nothing, but I like to jest).
Seriously though, I watched both the Celtics win (massacre) and the Lakers loss and watching the two teams and comparing them is night and day. The Celtics look sharp, and ruthless executing on defense and offense with good efficiency, or at least high competency. The Lakers play like they don't need to try to win. They (with the exception of Artest and Kobe) look like they're just winging it. I see little defense, disjointed offense, and just all around bad execution. With that said, as much as I don't like to admit it, the Lakers will get better, especially when Gasol returns. I just don't think they'll be good enough to beat a healthy Celtics team. Hell, nobody may be.
I couldn't help but laugh every time Artest got the ball and tried to go 1 on 5 against the mavs...just too funny.
as much as I hate to say this the mavs be a "sleeper" in the west they looked pretty good right now and consider that Josh Howard isnt even playing yet making them even deeper a lineup of kidd terry howard marion dirk i mean how would you stop a lineup like that?
Sure they have potential. But I don't know which one of their 2 games this season can be called a fluke. A double digit home loss to the Wizards or a double digit road win against the Lakers. I have to see more of them to fully come to a conclusion of how they will fare the rest of the season and when playoff time rolls around. They were pretty impressive tonight though.
and that's why I am SO glad that they didnt net Gortat.. one of the things they lack is a legit shot blocker..
It's possible don't double play man to man and sag off Kidd and force him to shoot like teams have done to us when we had Alston.
Pretty good lineup offense wise but defensively they are too soft inside. Big teams can pound on them. 1)Celtics - Garnett + Rasheed 2)Lakers - Odom + Gasol + Bynum 3) Magics - Dwight Howard ( They remind me of the old Sac Kings because their second unit can probably beat a lot of teams' first) Those are the only legitimate title contenders imo. Then you have teams that will do good but can't win it all. Mavs Cavs Spurs Nugs
Yeah.....things aren't quite the same without Gasol in the picture, are they? I've said it before and I'll say it again: this team is complete garbage without Gasol.
Inconclusive, Gasol is not playing. Having said that, Kobe only got a few suspicious favorable calls from the officials. Maybe Donaghy was telling some truth after all?
That being said about Gasol not being there they still looked over matched by a team without Josh Howard also.
The Lakers don't play hard every game. That's their weakness. I enjoyed watching that game until ESPN kept showing Cuban manloving Marian on the side lines when Dallas pulled their starters. That was sickening!!
I wouldn't call them complete garbage without Gasol, but he is their 2nd most important player. They aren't a contender without him. In addition to his obvious skill and talent, Pau is versatile enough to play and mesh with anyone on the floor. He is a superb 2nd fiddle for a championship-level team.
Wait, what the hell? The Nba season already started? I thought opening night is always on Halloween night.
