Bad news! 2009-10-30 Link [rQUOTEr]Hello SINA family!!! I just returned home from our first road trip of the season. We split 1-1 with a close win over the Golden State Warriors last night. Trevor, Aaron and Luis played really well. We are all beginning to play well off each other. We played with a lot of energy and intensity. It is always fun to have comeback win in a close game on the road like that. Getting to the game in Oakland was pretty difficult. We had to take a passenger ferry across the San Francisco Bay due to the Bay Bridge being closed for emergency repairs. That was my first time on anything like that! A lot of the guys were laughing about it. I’m just glad I didn’t have to swim, lol! It was a quick trip and a lot better than taking a three hour bus ride. I had to do a quick on camera interview today for PEAK when we returned home today. If you are unable to catch it, I’ll be sure to post some of it here soon。 I’m not feeling too great. I think I’m coming down with a cold. I’ll have to get some rest and sweat it out in the sauna tomorrow. Gotta get ready for the next game versus Portland on Halloween! Anyone have any good tricks to get rid of a cold??? CLANDRY#14[/rQUOTEr] Do you have any secret treatment for cold? You might want to share with Carl. Some of those suggestions from sina posters are very interesting, esp. those Chinese Herb prescriptions.
That made my day. =) On the upside of this, if Landry isn't feeling so well then we might just see the Brooks, Lowry, Budinger, Anderson, Hayes that some were asking for in our first outing against Portland. We've already got two PG's on the floor at once, why not two centers? Besides, Hayes will bring some more defensive pressure that we need to force turnovers and we can have Anderson's height help him stand at equal height with the defenders to make some mid/long range jumpers and two bigger boys to go in for the rebounds. That basically would give us 2-3 perimeter shooters in Anderson, Budinger, and Brooks if he's hot; 2-3 slashers in Lowry, Brooks, and Budinger on occasion; and 2-3 formidable bodies in the paint when the ball goes up with Hayes, Anderson, and Lowry with his acrobatics. I think it'd be a great combination to see.
Well you don't want to "sweat it out in the sauna". He needs to be drinking fluids not losing them. Didn't chicken soup work for Montana? Try that Carl.
that's why u dun wanna be on a ferry during late Oct. I'll say hot shower and good sleep will help fight off the cold! hope him get well soon.
Shane is still their spokesman. Here's the latest entry of his blog: 2009.10.26 Link [rQUOTEr]We just landed in Portland, and this time tomorrow night we will openthe season against the Portland Trail Blazers. I can't believe that theseason is here again. The summer just went so quickly。 The last time we were in Portland, the circumstances were much different. We were here for the playoffs, we had just won 55 games inthe regular season and we came to Portland to end our string of firstround exits. This time we come to Portland surrounded by question marksand uncertainty about our team. This is not to say that we aren't herein Portland to win, we fully believe that if we play hard and smart andtogether, that we have a chance to win. Our team is still trying to forge our identity. Especially without Yao in the middle. We are going to play much faster and at a tempo that will seem very different from those who have watched us in the years past。 I am excited to prove those who have already written us off, that theyare wrong. The challenge ahead is great, no doubt about that, but the potential of tough people should never be overlooked. We have a team ofplayers that have continually been cast off as too small, too slow, andnot good enough. Instead of believing those things people say about us,each of us, in our own way, have worked harder to overcome the odds and the doubts of others. We are in the NBA, to an extent, because we aretough individuals and don't let the outside expectations stop us fromexcellence. For us, it's just another year to prove people wrong。 I don't promise anything about this year. While some like to promise playoff berths and championships, that's not my style. I do believe that we are going to play hard and be a gutsy team. We will have theopportunity to scare some people with our sheer effort. I think we willbe competitive, for the aforementioned reasons。 So if you are a fan of teams and people who like to buck the odds, thencome aboard, our bandwagon is empty and there is plenty of room。 Talk to you later, shane[/rQUOTEr]
Sina interviewed Landry lately. The vedio in the following link will play automatically so just ignore those "strange" Chinese characters. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2009-10-30/23254672465.shtml
Carl Landrys brother Marcus Landry is on the KNicks? i didnt even know he entered the draft. Looks just like him.
He was drafted, made the team out of pure heart and hustle. Just what you'd expect from Family Landry. It seems like he wrote that before their first game of the year, which would explain why he sucked our first two games, but he should be better by now, or at least I hope.
