Why not just play preseason football in London? On the Dan Patrick show yesterday, a BBC guy was saying that it didn't really make a difference to them if there was a Superbowl in London, its all practically the same to them.
That's exactly what i was saying early, it wouldn't matter if London got a Super Bowl or a exhibition game, because it doesn't have as much meaning over there as it does over here. It would make more sense to have in another American city without an NFL franchise.
I could see a head coach objecting to the distraction of a long, foreign, possibly media-heavy trip while he was trying to build his roster.
Wouldn't be cool with it. I would if it was an away game for us but not so much a home game. However given our usual good attendance, I doubt the NFL would screw Houston over as such. Now teams that have trouble selling out their home games, this would be a fine punishment or if the season was expanded and there were a set of neutral games. But overall, the Texans shouldn't lose a home game to London for any reason especially given our usual fan support.
Considering the fact that the Texans have been just as good if not better on the road this season, I would be neutral to the idea. If we turn things around at home, I would be against it, BUT... either way it would be nice to get some international exposure. We are a FUN team to watch.
Bottom of page 3: "In 1998, 1999 the Tennessee Titans were the Houston Oilers." Ummm, no they were in TN then. The Oilers move to TN didn't make them a popular team.
Does anyone know if for the previous years the teams tried to get good airline deals for fans? If the travel was affordable it would be a cool trip
