but this is houston....not LA...a Rocket game is probably a top 5 thing to do this saturday. haloween parties too, but if you're giong to a haloween party at 7:30, then it's probably lame...plenty of time after the game.

I agree with Nice Rollin, regardless of who is playing and who is not playing, this game should be SOLD OUT. There is no excuse. It is Opening Night. I dont understand it.

Well Opening Night is on a bad day. Is a kid gonna want to go to a Rockets game or get free candy? And what do the kids need to go trick or treating? Parents.

My guess is a number of families who otherwise would have gone are instead doing Halloween activities.

Are you guys new to Houston?

We are destined for mediocrity this season, and Houston's fair-weather fans aren't going to show up in full force unless the going is good. We have a hard enough time filling Toyota Center when we are contenders.

seriously a couple of years ago when I went there there were several people who didnt know the Rockets were in the playoffs let alone that they were hosting Game 1 of the series that night in Houston (this was at iFest 2007) out of the thousands of people there heypartner and I were two of like 7 total people who wore any sort of rockets gear

now its opening night on Halloween when team expectations are super duper low no one is going to want to go.

Outside of probably the lakers game, spurs and mavs game (where it will be more of the other teams fans) i doubt the rockets will sell out any games this year

Yeah sad but true about some of the Rockets fan base in Houston. I remember going to an Spurs vs. Celtics a couple of years ago in SA and was amazed by the fan base. Sold out and this is when Celtics had one of the worst records and
only had Pierce. And surprisingly Boston won by alot, yet they still cheered till the end. Made me sad that people don't do this at Toyota. :(

This may sound like an excuse, but what other sports teams does San Antonio have sharing the time, money, and priorities of the fanbase?

Also, what else would you do during a night in San Antonio?

Its all gravy, we both do what we can to fill up the arena, we both don't have the "bandwagon" mentality others do
